The apartment is very dated and a lot of the appliances and equipment are old and dirty, which isn't accurately represented in the photos . This also makes the apartment feel unclean. It could do with a bit of tlc and a lick of paint to give it more of a clean feel. Also there is no air conditioning, which was quite difficult mid July!

When we arrived we were very disappointed ,apartment was not clean broken tiles on floor sockets not working in kitchen cracked cups no side plates no small spoons the cupboards were dirty fans were disgusting filthy and one was very loud ,toaster not working no instructions to use the cooker.we couldn't find the apartment on arrival until a lady that lived there helped us,we contacted Diana our host from Real Estate she couldn't do anything until Monday ,she sent the handy man to repair sockets in kitchen which he couldn't fix gave us an extension lead for kettle and toaster ,which was quite dangerous ,it spoilt our holiday as we did not want to stay in apartment ,l have sent you a email l have sent photos of what we found on arrival to Diana our host Real Estate ,she tried to help us and to top it all ,on leaving the apartment on the 11th we all left the apartment for the lift Donna the last lady to come out of the apartment walked out with her hand luggage and the door slammed leaving her case in the apartment with keys inside 8 am in morning we phoned the host at least 12 times as our flight was 11 am taxi waiting for us ,Donna missed her flight as we could not get in touch with anyone until the office opened at 10am ,Donna had to change her flight to midnight from Alicante ,we loved La Mata and will return but the apartment we stayed in was not good ,l think we should be entitled for a refund l have used Booking .com for years and always been pleased and satisfied but this year was unacceptable we are all in our late 70s and always enjoy our holidays but we all felt very disappointed

Entrance to the property was a building site, having 2 walk on planks to access the lift. Deep holes on either sides different days, extremely dangerous, property shouldn't have been rented while this work was being done. would be shut down in Ireland, should have taken photos earlier not the last day, terrible dangerous with luggage no work men to help us out. I had to accompany my friends in and out all the time, which restricted me from exploring the surrounding small towns very disappointed.

The pillows were a bit hard. In the summer you may need Aircon and there was not loads of outdoor space. But it is central that's ok.

Regretfully there was a Spainish Festival on for the 2 weekends The first being a Friday night,I have never heard such lound music this went on till 4am in the morning the doors onto Balcony were shaking the base coming through the DJs speakers was unbelievable,Then Sat morning you are woken at 8am with Church Bells Then throughout the week the bin men arrive to empty all the hugh bond x 6 outside the Apartment Block.this also includes the Restaurants using the Bins to empty all there wine bottles between 10.30pm-11.00pm followed by the last ring of church bell at 11pm so based on this Festival from 23rd Sept 8Oct at weekends I would not go back any other time would be fine Parking is not easy,and we had hired a car I feel sorry for the local people that live there except for the Holly Service that ended Sunday 8th October
