Verified reviews from real guests who have already stayed here.
Well-located near the beach with easy access to restaurants.
Breakfast and dinner options were varied and well-prepared.
Clean and well-maintained public areas, comfortable rooms.
Mixed experiences. Staff were helpful, but some reported issues with empathy from management.
Overall a decent stay with both positives and areas for improvement.
Rooms are comfortable but there were instances of miscommunication regarding guest numbers.
“Great stay”
Great Hotel in a nice quiet area away from all the tourists. Plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes within walking distance of ten minutes or so. Lovely long beach promenade for strolling, cycling and skating without all the hustle and bustle of the nearby tourist areas. The hotel itself was clean and tidy and the maids visited daily, I stayed on the 4th floor where the room was spacious, clean and tidy. I didn't use the hotel pool but saw it being cleaned each morning. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of hot and cold selection and never really got too busy. Receptionists were prompt and helpful, they also had great knowledge of the local area. I would stay here again if i was visiting the area.
“Unfriendly Hotel staff -Very Remote area- NO SHOPS”
Where do I start?? Oh dear from the get go on arrival at 4R Meridia Mar L'Hospitalet de L'Infant it was very bad. We arrived in a very remote area of the town to the hotel which looked quite nice to be honest. The receptionist spoke very little English which was ok but we were surprised this was the case as you are billed as English speaking in your resume. We were then told that we had missed dinner we arrived after a late transfer (late due to the transfer company taking another fare to Tarragona from another flight and not turning up for us until well after 10pm) and that if we wanted to eat then to go over to the Marina where there are restaurants. We did go over there as we were hungry but these restaurants too were closing as it was late and no food was being served. So we went back to the hotel. We had to pay for a bottle of water! they didn't even provide us with that little a gesture, no food, nothing. THE RECEPTION STAFF WERE NOT FRIENDLY on the whole. We were given a card with the hotel restaurant food times on it We were HALF BOARD so 8-10 Breakfast and 8pm-10pm dinner (1.30-3.30 lunch slot but we weren't booked for this) So next morning we went down to breakfast ravenous for something to eat. To be fair meals were good and there was always something we could eat but the fact that dinner was SO LATE in the evening meant that we were eating very late and this is not good for digestion before bed (dinner should be 6pm-8pm surely????) So everyday we had to get in the restaurant as early as we could to 8pm so that we weren't eating too late before bed. The restaurant staff on the door signing us in were NOT FRIENDLY. Room was on 2nd Floor down the side of the hotel and were ok, beds VERY COMFORTABLE and the maid seems to come everyday to clean the room (not nescessary but ok if that's how they do it then so be it). Shower caps, handwash and shower gel provided. Lots of loo rolls provided too and lovely clean towels. WE DID NOT USE THE POOL AREA. Pools, especially the children's pool looked MURKY AND UNCLEAN and we never saw anyone cleaning these in the evening or any other time. The pool area is VERY SHADY too so I don't think if you were hoping to lounge in the sun all day here you'd have much luck. The hotel's pictures suggest full sunlight on this area but that is NOT THE CASE. Very few sunbeds for the amount of guests too I would think but we never used them so not sure. The hotel reception area and restaurant were Air conditioned and well kept. Because we missed dinner on the first night, through no fault of our own, we asked if we could have lunch on the day of our check out and we were told NO by one of the UNFIRENDLY receptionists who abruprtly said when we asked for this because we missed dinner ont he first night, THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM! - this receptionist was very UNFIENDLY and we noticed she kept going outside to SMOKE on the street outside the hotel and smelled badly of cigarettes too. She was unpleasant, had brown hair and glasses and just wasn't nice at all :-( The problems are, *the staff do not speak the international language of English or at least only a little bit of English and they are on the whole, UNFIRENDLY. *The mealtimes are inconvenient Breakfast should be 7-10am, lunch 12-2pm, dinner 6-8pm (although that wouldn't have helped us on our arrival as no dinner then either) * the hotel is remote. It says 'the hotel enjoys an excellent location surrounded by numerous shops, cafés, bars, and restaurants, all within easy walking distance. The town centre is just a 10-minute stroll away, offering even more dining and shopping opportunities.' BUT THIS ISN'T TRUE. THERE ARE NO SHOPS AROUND THE HOTEL. There ARE restaurants in the marina area but NO SHOPS. The town has VERY FEW SHOPS THAT ARE ACTUALLY OPEN! No souvenir shops, no beach shops, nothing of that sort. There is a SPAR shop by the bus stop TEN MINUTES walk into town. The hotel is situated quite far away if you are on foot from the big main beach of L'Hospitalet to the right when you come out of the hotel you have a long hike and there are NO SHOPS there either! although the beachs are beautiful and aplenty and the sea is gorgeous here I admit. There is a market right outside the hotel on a Sunday which is great btw so look out for that IT'S A SAVING GRACE. Unfortunately as beautiful as this area is, it is VERY QUIET Now we like quiet but this town is dead and we will not be coming back. And we don't drink alcohol so we weren't wanting rowdy bars and lively hotels. I suggest if you want all the beauty of the area and lovely shops, restaurants, bars etc then you stay in CAMBRILS PORT AREA which is far superior to L'Hospitalet de L'enfant. It's vibrant without the ugliness of Salou and yet FRIENDLY and so much more to do and see. We were very disappointed with our holiday here and WILL NOT BE RETURNING. If you want SUPER quiet go here. Sorry Meridia Mar you weren't helpful and accommodating and you were UNFRIENDLY!

“Wouldn’t stay there again but it resort itself was nice”
Lounge area,bedrooms
TV showed no channels in English not even works news. Coffee in restaurant was diabolical and I was not allowed to take the coffee I had purchased from bar (decent coffee) into the restaurant. Even though it was afoot away!!! The staff did not have a problem and in fact thought it amusing when a lady filled her BIG bag with food from the buffet, blatantly returning back and forth. Bins around pool area were not emptied in the week we were there. Be aware also that at end of September there is a 3 day music event in the evenings. Don’t but a ticket you’ll hear it in full from your bed. I think the hotel should make guests aware of this.
“The room with sea view was very nice! The room was comfortable: bright colors, comfy beds, nice balcony, furniture was new and comfortable. Air conditioning is very good too. · Cons: Bathroom has not ventilation and the roof there is a bit moldy(( Room cleaning is not very good (a lot of dust stays there, the space under beds are not cleaned at all)! Breakfast was average.. The pool seems dirty, as it’s very little for this hotel. We didn’t go there. There are rooms on the ground floor, front the pool, they have very little windows, looking to the courtyard and the pool, more than everybody goes through this way to the to reach the own rooms.”

“Great location and nice staff”
Great little spot right next to the beach
Our first room was dark and smelled of cigarette smoke but the very helpful staff moved us to a much better room. The queues for coffee at the breakfast buffet were hindered by only one machine working
