AC Hotel Atocha by Marriott

We loved the breakfast— it had many options to choose from. The room was very clean and comfortable.

Typical Marriott quality. Small bar with tapas available if you don't want to travel into city. Location near Atocha train station, but not easy to walk to city center or to metro.

This is smart, modern hotel is a great all rounder! The reception staff were genuinely helpful and polite throughout our stay and was able to arrange early access to our room which was unexpected. The room was spacious, very quiet and comfortable with a coffee maker - exactly what you need after long days sightseeing. And, If you opt to have breakfast you can expect a large selection of hot & cold dishes all super tasty and well presented. The winner however is the hotel's location. Unlike a lot of suburbs next to major train stations, this one is actually really nice. It feels safe and is full of local cafes and tapas bars. For museum lovers this location is perfect as The Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza, and Reina Sofía are all just 10-15 minutes on foot - no taxis or buses needed. There are also two gorgeous parks to explore when it gets too hot.

Air conditioning was excellent very quiet. Location very close and convenient to train station. Christian very helpful providing ice.

comfortable. Internet can be slow and spotty at times. I would not recommend this hotel to someone who needs to work online. Skip the breakfast option. Overpriced and offers very little. No eggs cooked to order. Cheese slices on the bland side. My room did not have an iron and board so I requested one, only to be given a dry iron and tabletop board. I had to challenge the front desk worker who insisted the hotel did not have any regular sized board and I stated that a hotel of their caliber couldn't overlook that necessity. Another employee stepped in and explained that not all rooms have one but he'd have a regular size board delivered to my room. Bar service on the main level is excellent. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The terrace gives one a sense of tranquilly and I used it often. I will stay at this hotel again upon my return to Madrid.
