AC Hotel Diagonal L'Illa by Marriott

Good no nonsense hotel, I would say perfect for business travel. Many restaurants nearby but it is not a touristy neighbourhood. There is a fantastic food market in the basement of the adjacent shopping mall.

We loved this hotel. We had a large room very comfortable. Staff were very nice. Nice outside deck are and common space. Not the most ideal location to attractions but in a nice business area.

I stayed at this property from November 26th to December 18th, 2025. While I am a loyal Marriott Gold Elite member, I feel it is my duty to warn other travelers about the serious safety risks and the lack of professional responsibility at this hotel. During my stay, I suffered a life-threatening incident caused by gross negligence within the property. I have clear video evidence of this event, which proves how dangerous the situation was. The most shocking part was not just the incident itself, but the management's reaction. I reached out to the General Manager, Mr. Ruiz, multiple times to find a fair resolution. Instead of taking responsibility for a guest’s safety, the management chose to ignore my emails for weeks and eventually hid behind vague corporate excuses. If you value your safety and expect a professional response when something goes dangerously wrong, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere in Barcelona. A brand like AC/Marriott should prioritize human life over bureaucracy, but unfortunately, that was not my experience here. The matter is now being handled by my legal counsel. I have all the documentation and video recordings to support these claims. Stay away if you expect a safe environment and accountable management.

Stay was great. Location is v good. -->Right in front of bus stop, next to a mall with grocery store and medical shop. -->Room sizes are the best part about the hotel. -->Staff was very accommodating, special mention for ISI from the Front Desk and Patricia in the restaurant. V Helpful. -->Daily housekeeping was an added advantage. -->Breakfast is very very boring. I mean its exact same every morning, just 1 change of dish else exactly the same what they serve daily. There could be so many options to be on rotation. For a brand like Marriott, this is something they really need to fix. -->Disposable Glasses in rooms instead of crockery feels so low grade hotel. -->More and properly placed switch board in the room would be helpful. I would recommend the hotel for a stay in Barcelona.

The hotel is in a business area, rooms are nice. Anyhow it seems that the staff is extremely junior and not familiar with the system. They messed up with the deposit and at checkout out they were not able to release the deposit so I had to pay again blocking my card for the double of the amount.., the long and messy check out caused me to loose my train. They denied any responsibility once they caused issues. Usually in customer service the starting point is to say sorry … in short nice hotel but staff junior and not professional, for sure not up to the price and hotel category.

Perfect location. Easy and fast check in and check out. Great break fast. The 2 wait staff, the lady and the gentleman during breakfast time were very nice and attentive. Room had everything.
