“PURE PARADISE. So incredibly perfect!”

Just two words: PURE PARADISE - in capital letters. We wanted to visit Barcelona but not as typical tourists (as we are aware that the city has big troubles with this at the moment). So we drove by car from Austria all the way to Can Burgues, just half an hour north of the capital, in order to leave as less impact as possible for our visit. Where do I begin? From our arrival to our departure it was one of the most beautiful stays we've ever had. The owners of this huge (!) 700-year-old farm (situated in the small town of Santa Eulalia) welcomed us so incredibly friendly! Despite being such a big farmhouse there's only space for three apartments that are rented to visitors so you can be 100% sure to have the most tranquil stay imaginable (no fear of "party guests" or anything like this. Can Burgues is – in my subjective eyes – best suitable for families with kids, elderly people or couples looking for a perfect romantic getaway). Our apartment was so beautiful that it's hard to describe: The interior of this really old architecture has been fitted with all modern amenities (fully equipped kitchen, perfect bathroom with tub and shower, superfast WiFi) but without destroying the "feeling" (beamed ceilings, stone walls and floors, beautiful window shutters etc.). It's so "Spanish" in a way that it could be used for a movie location. The staff? The farm is run by two sisters and their father (I suppose). All three of them couldn't have been nicer - but without disturbing the absolute privacy of their guests (something that's very important to me). They were there when we had questions - and left us alone for the rest of our time. Just perfect. And then there are all the things you can do here: First of all the heated pool. It's huge (20 meters length?), like a small city's public pool. During our off-season stay in the week before Easter holidays we had it all alone for us.

To be improved

(using this space only to continue the positive feedback) … the heating for the pool is produced from the wood waste the family gets from the hazelnut trees all around the farm. Talking about hazelnuts: This is the product the farm is famous for. In the farm shop you can buy self-produced hazelnut products like bread-spread (a hundred-thousand-times better than Nutella!) and stuff like local wine, craft beer, lavender shampoo (!) plus potatoes and eggs directly from the gardens and chickens a few metres away. Nothing is wasted here. Best example: Rita, the most beautiful pig lady. She's five months old, lives in a barn on the premises and is cute as hell. She loves to dig into all biological leftovers from the guests (except for orange peels - which she hates). During our stay we secretely treated her with a few extra goodies (apples, pears, strawberries) that we bought from the local supermarket which is situated just a 5min walk away. Rita will be delighted, I promise - and watching her munching away is heart-melting. What else to say? Nothing. I hope that other guests get my idea of this PURE PARADISE. I'm not exaggerating.

in one word perfect ! very clean, perfect fr families with children, close to Barcelona and in a nice area. Very green and the hosts were amazing ! We would definitely come back in spring or summer
