“Helpful and accommodating hosts”
Lovely property in quite location but only 10 min walk from local restaurants. We were allowed to drop our bike boxes off 6 days before and collect when we stayed on our last night. Breakfast was nice and hosts were really helpful. Would definitely recommend.
“Very Welcoming”
The hotel is right on the edge of Zamudio and down a small path off the main road so it is very quiet. The property is surrounded by trees and cannot be seen from the road. The owners were very welcoming when I arrived providing information on where to go for groceries and for lunch and a drink. My room was large with a big bed, closet and desk. The floor was tiled and there were huge wooden beams both upright and across the ceiling. The bathroom was a good size. Everything was very clean. There were big windows but as it was at the back of the building and away from the afternoon sun the room was a little dark. I noticed a table and chairs outside the main window but it was too cool to sit outside in the shade that day. I struggled with the wifi which worked on and off but dropped out frequently. It was much better in the restaurant area at breakfast so possibly just doesn't stretch well to the sleeping rooms. There was a large lounge area in reception that was dark and apparently unused, possibly due to covid precautions. Breakfast is available and seems reasonably substantial - cereal, orange juice, toast, fruit, tomato, ham and so on. I was in a bit of a hurry and didn't do it justice but it is probably worth the cost. My only real complaint was around the soundproofing. I could hear guests in the room next door. Fortunately, they did not keep late hours but I did hear one get up and bump around a bit in the early hours. They probably heard me too. Overall, this is a nice place to stay with very welcoming hosts and pretty surroundings.
“Close to airport and decent price”
Stayed at this small inn yesterday. Close to airport (like 7 km) and close to Bilbao (6 KM), so it was conveniently located. Beds were good and the room was clean. Not a place to bring a date as the rooms don’t have a door to their bathrooms, only a curtain. Breakfast was not impressive but then again no worse than other low cost Spanish hotels/ inns
“A relaxing spot close to Bilbao airport”
We stayed for one night on our way north to Santander. The accommodation is set well back from the main road and is definitely rustic in character but has all the necessary amenities. Parking was private but not secured. The hosts were very welcoming and informative yet were unobtrusive. The room itself was on a wooden mezzanine level and was one of three on that level. It was an attic style room with large Velux window above the bed and enough storage for our stay. The bathroom area had a curtain across it rather than a door but it was a good size and all toiletry products were eco-friendly. Our host recommended a lovely little stroll around Zamudio and provided a choice of three local bars/restaurants for our evening meal, the tower and church had a lot of interesting information in English. Breakfast was continental in style with juice, tea/coffee, cereal, toast, cake, fruit and other locally produced delicacies; it was more than enough to start the day. As some reviews have already mentioned, it is on the flight path (during our stay it was final approach only) but for us it wasn't overly intrusive as we didn't hear any planes during the night. We would recommend this accommodation if you are in the area.
“Noisy”
Room was basic but adequate, very clean, owners were very nice but the place was extremely noisy. The hotel is on the flight path and you get planes flying very low on a regular basis, you can also hear the trains and the walls are not soundproofed so we could hear our neighbour turning in his bed. You can't get a decent night sleep without any earplugs so if you are looking for peace and quiet, avoid at all cost
“Amazing place 5 Stars!”
Warm comfortable, cosy and amazing attentive hosts. We stopped here as a treat on our Camino trip as oppose to another hostel night. Nice bar 5 mins walk away. And our hosts provided a lovely breakfast. A great choice and exactly what the weary traveller needs.
