“Wonderful!”
Awesome! We really enjoyed our stay. Even though it is off our Camino route but they were very accommodating by picking us up at Sta. Marinas and help us arrange our pick up back to Camino route the next day. The place was so cool! The breakfast was delivered at your cabin and was a lot! We highly recommend it! Wish we could stay for another day! Thank you to the Staff! You guys are awesome!
“Beautiful, expansive, cute, aesthetic, bright, modern, safe, serene, cozy, clean, tasty”
This property was beautiful and we all wished we could have stayed for a few more days to continue to decompress
“Delightful, well worth a detour from the Camino de Santiago.”
This is a unique themed apartment. With an expansive view of a tiny local airstrip below (which had no traffic while be were there), it has a flying theme in every detail. The view out over the lake was wonderful, it was completely quiet and away from all distractions. Peaceful, regenerative, delightful. The cabin was a bit small, but one wall is floor-to-ceiling windows out to the lake. We only wish we could have stayed more nights, as this is a retreat, not just a room. The owners were communicative and friendly. Resources (e.g., food) were a few km away - an easy drive but too far to walk. We were walking the Camino Portugues, so we took advantage of their service of bringing us meals. Really a lot of fun staying here, and well worth the detour from the Camino to get there (it is easy, follow a map on your phone - zero traffic, and scenic.)
“Great place beautiful just wish there was a couple more amenities. I understand if you’re driving by car because of the”
Beautiful quiet
I was hoping there was stuff in vending machines. I understand it was a remote location, but there was just a couple cans of tuna fish. Everything was pretty empty so we had to hire a taxi to go take us into town to get simple things.
“Lovely tranquil spot with beautiful views over the lake”
We had read reviews that the owners pick up from the Camino trail in Oleivroa, so my daughter and I wanted to treat ourselves to a bit of luxury having walked 340 kms from Porto… the idea of the hot tub was the appeal to us and we were not disappointed! There are 5 self contained cabins which are located remotely behind a locked gate (you have a key issued) overlooking the lake, which is stunningly beautiful. Patricia and her husband were absolutely charming and Patricia gave us a well needed breakfast (which arrived by toolbox outside our door) and she catered to our special dietary requirements beautifully. Great hot tub with plenty of hot water and good air conditioning units. Tried sitting out on the Veranda after the hot tub experience, but there was irritating little plane that flew over the lake until sunset. Not the fault of the owners, as I should have twigged it’s all in the name….!!
The remoteness, as the owners do not live on site. I felt it was extremely overpriced and there was no “welcome pack” except two bottles of water in the fridge. Naïvely, I thought that it was advertised that breakfast was included, there would be some sort of facility to purchase something to eat on arrival and of course we had no way of getting out to purchase some food ;-) I wouldn’t recommend it for Camino walkers unless the owners throw in a simple evening meal, (or at the very least; bread, ham and cheese). You are also totally reliant on the owners Goodwill to pick you up and drop you back. Also worth noting, if you were not carrying your own backpack, the baggage transfers cost double the normal daily rate to transfer to the cabins……just saying!
“Tranquil and beautiful”
The location was stunning overlooking a lake and the chalet style ‘airport hanger’ accommodation was very unusual
It was very remote and a little off the beaten track if you were doing the Camino as we were as it added an extra 3 miles to our walk.
