“Good location and good cleaning service. Nice basic accommodation. Friendly and helpful check-in staff/owners although never met them - only over the phone. · Cons: This was so far the only accommodation for which Booking.com information wasn't accurate. There was supposed to be a coffee maker in every room - not in ours! Every room was supposed to have a balcony and mountain view - no balcony in ours and of course no mountain view because there are no mountains by the hotel, just little hills. Those points didn't matter but am mentioning them because they might matter to some. There was supposed to be parking but the only parking was a public parking across the road - again not a problem but also not accurate the way hotel parking is usually arranged. There was not supposed to be breakfast but if one wanted to pay one could get breakfast in the downstairs restaurant/bar (this is actually plus but the info on the website didn't mention it). The downstairs restaurant was not open for dinner. Instead there was an overpriced restaurant next door. The food was ok but the servings were tiny - the first time in my life that I pay over 20 Euros for a chicken that is 30% skin and bones and afterwards I had to go to grocery store to get food to get full. So, lots of things that weren't accurate. Nice basic accommodation if the info gets fixed so that it is accurate.”

The owner needs to put a side table with the sofa, also a wardrobe would be good, to put your clothes in.

“The room was small, but more than adequate and quite charming. I don't remember requesting a quiet room, but the room certainly was not quiet. One could hear all the traffic noises and group conversations happening on the street just below me. The walls are very thin and you can hear people moving about in the adjacent rooms and sound of locks opening and closing . None of this bothered me though. The only thing that I would have preferred was to have had a concierge on site. The owners were not on property the majority of the time and it was necessary to contact them by WhatsApp. Also, the online communication gave the impression that the proprietors spoke English, which later in-person it was very clear that they did not. Again, that's fine, but it ought to have been communicated prior to arriving that my hosts did not actually speak English. I would have been better prepared , through research, to have asked questions in Spanish. Overall, the stay was very nice. The breakfast in the hostal restaurant was absolutely perfect and was exactly what I expected it to be. I would definitely recommend Hostal Batato to friends, but I would definitely inform them of the issues I have outlined above, so that they might prepare accordingly. · Cons: refer to above”
