“A truly exceptional Albergue. Everyone loved it.”

If you can manage another 5 more km’s after Melide, away from the throngs of pilgrims I would highly recommend Albergue El Aleman in Boente. Beautiful place, clean, comfortable and most of all peaceful. Staff were really nice and welcoming. The bar was a cool place to hang out and the lovely food was delivered with a friendly nice. Only those staying at El Aleman can use the facilities (bar, restaurant etc.) Would highly recommend this Albergue. Most of us were pilgrims on the Primitivo from Oviedo so it was a welcome relief yo stay here away from the crowds.

To be improved

This is more some advice that a criticism but The sign outside states The Albergue is for residents only. A suggestion would be to open it up during the day for all passing pilgrims until 4/5pm to garner some extra business & money. Perhaps then more people may decide to stay the night as it wasn’t full. An Albergue of this standard deserves to be full.

The swimming pool and the fact that the bar was just for guests. Service was great and the food excellent.

To be improved

A shade sail over the pool would be nice. It’s very open and on a hot day, there’s no relief w the sun.
