“A peaceful little gem”

The best

The villa is beautiful. Whilst there is only one bedroom with en suite, a lounge and separate kitchen, each room is spacious and finished to a high standard. The pool is small, but again perfectly adequate for a couple or small family and is salt water rather than chlorinated which seems to be kinder on your skin. The kitchen is well appointed with all the usual appliances you'd expect and the utility room by the pool has a washing machine too. The location is very quiet for the vast majority of the time, being located in what is essentially a village. There are at least 4 restaurants, 2 shops and a pharmacy within easy walking distance though and the village centre has a very pleasant park area with a fountain feature, all overlooked by the beautiful church... There is even EV charging available if required! The people in the village were all very friendly, happy to help at all of the places we visited and made us feel at ease whenever we went. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings then this place is pretty hard to beat. We're already planning our next visit!

Be prepared for an interesting drive up and down the mountain! The road is decent tarmac but very, very winding and narrow for most of it's length once you start climbing. The bread shop next door seems to start prep around 11pm every night and this goes on, at varying levels of intensity, throughout the night. We were aware of this from reading other reviews so took earplugs and some sleeping tablets. Earplugs got us through with no problems though... On the plus side you'll never run out of delicious, fresh bread or pastries quite literally on your doorstep. 😊

The best

Very nicely renovated house with beautiful bathroom and very well equipped kitchen. Great swimming pool. Santa Lucia is very nice small town with great bar on the corner, close to the house.

To be improved

House is more suitable for 2+1 or 2 with 2 small children due to only two beds. Our son is 175 cm tall and had to use sofa as a bed. But it was my mistake because I have not checked the description and photos carefullly.
