“The most relaxing place we experienced in all of Spain!”
Our booked apartment in Cordoba had issues and upon arrival we decided not to stay there. We decided to stay out of Cordoba and drive in for the day to see the historical sites. We found this apartment 25 minutes outside Cordoba for half of what we were going to pay for the cancelled flat in Cordoba. We found a charming, hospitable owner, Juan, greeting us and showing us the apartment. It was a two bedroom with extensive amenities in a spa setting with pool, a small balcony, and well groomed backyard. The small town featured old fashioned grocery stores and a good restaurant. We parked right outside the unit and had a wonderful time. We learned something here: we can do a lot better with stays in the countryside near a major tourist town and driving into tourist towns for the day. Park at a city center parking for the day and do the site seeing and later drive back to a quiet country setting to retire for the day. Unlike our stays in Seville, Granada and Other major Spanish towns, we actually got a quiet night of sleep and heard birds in the early mornings. When we asked for a tea kettle, Juan went and bought a new one. When we asked for where we could get a few eggs to make some pancakes, he gave us eggs and would not take payment for it. Everywhere else we stayed during this trip, we were just another customer and all we got was the fleeting attention and the long wait to get a text reply. With Juan and his team we received an authentic human connection and interest to make sure we enjoyed our stay. He managed to make a great impression even if he had to communicate with a translator app and a big smile. What a lovely man and a wonderful stay, the best of all the nine stays we had in Spain.
It was all good!
“Lovely apartment in a historic building”
Very cute apartment in an old building. Everything we needed for a night’s stay. Even a pool, although we didn’t stay long enough to use it. Owner/ manager was very helpful after an initial difficulty getting the keypad on the front door to let us in.
Not sure why I paid extra for a balcony, when it was just a wrought iron Juliet onto the road.
“We had a lovely stay”
It was beautiful
Hard to find
“Superb”
We loved staying in this apartment; the decor, the balconies, the beds so comfortable, everything we needed was there. The host was so friendly too. Thank you so much.
“Good for one night.”
The owner is incredibly friendly. The village is small but nice, very Spanish, exactly what we were looking for. The apartment is really in the middle of the village. But be aware, the only restaurant does not open before 9 PM, and for your breakfast all mini supermarkets have very limited opening hours.
The bed is very small (1.40m) and of terrible quality. When 1 person turns the other feels every movement and the bed makes noise. The Turkish bad looks nice but is very very cold, then there is a inflatable Jacuzzi but that was also not very warm and the water is very chlorinated. It is OK for one night but I would not stay here longer.
“Exceptional”
Room was very nice, with everything we needed, coffee machine, small kitchen, comfortable bed. We only stayed one night so we couldn't explore more, but the town was cute. The owner was very helpful and nice:) Also..the wi-fi was amazing.
