“Escape and recharge with easy road access to the north and west of the island”
Loads of space, out of town so quiet and peaceful, great place to come back and recharge after a long day out. Car is _essential_ and be aware that it’s far up the hill and can be 5-10° colder than at the coast.
Kitchen was weirdly not so well equipped for actual cooking, which as someone who cooks a lot was a little disappointing. Missing a cutting board, or anything to take hot food out of the oven, or something to stir pots with, or a frying pan of any useful size. Bed was way too short for us, both being over 190cm, and the wood end made it quite uncomfortable, maybe skip this one if you’re over 185
“Very good”
“Phenomenal, stunning views, spaciaous semi-rural living, situation upon a stunning fruit garden with grape vines. All o”
The views were outstanding all around the property; sea views, Mountain views, towns in the distance, the lights across the mountains on an evening, the tip of the volcano from the back terrace and the property was situated on a beautiful fruit garden with grape vines, orange trees, lemon trees, fig trees, avocado trees and many more. The sounds of semi-rural daily and evening life from the terraces were gorgeous to listen to. The property was really spacious and had all of the necessary equipment to cook, wash, clean, make coffee, make drinks, relax and watch tv. The sofas were really big and comfortable. The shower facilities were great and I could make use the window to enjoy the sea views whilst I was showering. The house was detached and it was very peaceful so we really felt we had our own piece of the canaries whilst on holiday. The style and decor really made us feel like we were enjoying an authentic Canadian/Spanish experience, it was exactly what we were looking for 10/10. There was coffee and some herbal tea bags at the property and some water left in the fridge with a lovely chocolate treat. There were fresh towels and spare bed sheets. The locals were all very friendly and even though the landlord was on site most of the time he was occupied with work so we only seen on a few occasions, he was very friendly and appreciative we were staying there. He picked some avocados for us from the back garden and they were delicious! One thing I would say is that is was very handy to have rented a car for the 11 nights we stayed as it was just outside Icod. I noticed there were buses but it would require some planning to do that. We walked into Icod one night and it took about 30-40 mins down steep hills. 1 hour by car from Santa Cruz, Los Cristianos, Las Américas, Costa Adeje, Pyramids of Güímar, Candelaria. 45 mins to North Airport, Masca.
The only thing that would have been better is a bigger bed, I’m 183cm so the bed was a bit small for me and sleep was sometimes difficult. Also there was a smell of damp somewhere within the property that we could smell slightly in the lounge but we only noticed each time we had been out of the property for the day. It was only entering the property after some time away you could smell it but then it disappeared after 2 mins as it wasn’t that strong. These things can be easily fixed by the landlord so we would 100% stay here again. Honestly we absolutely loved our stay so thank you so much and we will be back again!
