“This place has real character. I was sad to leave!”

Everything about apt. Alfonso was perfect for me. I don’t remember ever giving full marks before but this place had no faults in my eyes. It is in a fantastic location in the old town, just a minute from the main plaza and great restaurants. The apartment is small but perfectly formed and finished to a high standard. It has so much old town charm and character! The shower is powerful, the view is amazing, the bed is comfy, and the AC is powerful. The kitchen is well equipped and the washing machine easy to use. I arrived by bus so I don’t know about parking. And, yes, there are three doors to get in, and the one off the street is low, but this just adds to its charm. Cuenca is gorgeous and this little studio was the perfect base.

“Very well thought apartment in historical house”

The best

An apartment with a fully functional kitchen and a washing machine. The house is historical and old, but the owner made sure that all the small details are prepared for a traveler, from extra coffee pads, jam and olive oil pads to various dishware and cutlery to dishwashing and washing materials. The Alfonso room has a nice overhead city and mountain view.

“Beautiful apartment in old town Cuenca”

The best

We loved the apartment and it was nice to have a small welcome pack with coffees and cakes/biscuits. Could not fault the location or the facilities. Fabulous view from the window especially at night.

To be improved

We must however mention that we found the process of getting the keys out of the key lock difficult. The doorway is small and the box is hard to access and it took a few calls to the host before we were able to get the keys out. This does not in any way distract from the lovely stay we had but it was frustrating. We would also say that as this is an old building there are steps down to the apartment inside the property which could be difficult if you have mobility issues.

Right in the old town and 2 mins walk to plaza. Just note that 2nd bedroom is on the loft and you need to climb the stairs.

To be improved

there is alway water flushing noise from pipe though it is hidden in the wall in the bedroom

the instructions for getting into the property were a bit complicated - especially after a long and tiring drive.
