“Disappointment by the Beach”

Close to the beach, although a little bit of a walk. Lovely view during the day.

When we first entered, we were met with the faint smell of animal. It seems like someone stayed here with their pet and it wasn't cleaned well after. There was no coffee maker, there was an extremely used moka percolator. We opted to just use instant coffee in boiled water. The furniture was stained, old and sagging. I'm not sure which apartment is in the property photos but it wasn't ours. The deck furniture was not set up like the pictures and there were no cushions for the loungers. The bed in the main bedroom was hard. I've had more comfortable sleeps on intercity trains. It was supposedly a Japanese mattress but it doesn't matter - it was uncomfortable. The Wi-Fi didn't seem to work. Nor did the bathroom fan. If you're expecting a nighttime view of the sea, manage your expectations. A flood light (see photos) from the neighboring building illuminated the side of the apartment all night, lighting up the master bedroom, and forcing us to keep our curtains closed. It also prevented any enjoyment of the patio after dark. The area it's located in is inundated with tourists (understandable since it's next to the beach) and the only nearby food options are subpar.

“View, nearby beach, and stunning coastal walking trails nearby make this apartment a great choice!”

The best

This apartment was on the upper level with a nice-sized patio that offered a bay view over the buildings below. The location was across the street from a hotel that is castle-themed with a restaurant that attracts tourists. There is also a park with renowned Estatua de "Los Vientos" - Statue of the Winds - only a few minutes walk away, along with beautiful coastal walking trails. The beach access requires walking down a sloped street to stairs which lead to the beach, and it is only feasible for able-bodied people who can go up and down multiple flights of stairs. My husband with knee problems was not able to go to the beach. That wasn't a problem for us because it was March and raining - but if you come here to go the beach be aware you need to walk down many stairs to get there. Parking was convenient, with a gate to open manually and parking directly below the one flight of stairs to the apartment. We were able to drive a short distance to restaurants and grocery stores. The apartment is not fancy but well-cared for. It is simple in style and has the basics that you need for an enjoyable vacation. The host did a great job of communicating in advance and during check in. When we had a problem with the hot water they were able to assist us by messaging to make adjustments to the water heater to easily and quickly solve the problem. We enjoyed the hiking trails just down the street on the peninsula which offered the opportunity to see the coast from many angles, including beautiful sunset views. If you are looking for a beach vacation and don't mind using step/stairs to access the beach, this would be a great choice. If you just want a home base to explore the area this is also a great choice because there is beauty within steps and much more within an easy drive!

Stairs to the beach were not feasible for my husband to access because of his knee problems, but otherwise we enjoyed our stay
