“Lovely facilities superb accommodation”

We had a great stay recently at this hotel. Accommodation was impressive we went for deluxe apartment which was perfect for a family with two teenage girls. Really large flat with well equipped kitchen and huge lounge area. Beds super comfy and shower amazing. Really lovely and quiet with blackout blinds throughout. Swimming pool ( heated) and loungers were lovely and the outdoor jacuzzi was a bonus. Indoor spa also lovely - we enjoyed the ice bath ! Food choice at dinner was a little restricted but ok it was a small restaurant with small buffet area. Lovely fruit selection at breakfast and coffee good too. Hotel very quiet - probably too quiet for us but it was relaxing and we were out of season so it’s to be expected. Had a lovely day trip to Portugal - the hotel is only 20 min drive from the border. Sea was warm and clear in Portugal but less so in Islantilla, still lovely though. We were super lucky with the weather. Big thank you to the reception staff who called me last week to say they’d found my daughter’s cuddly elephant which had been inadvertently swept up with the bedding one day and sent to the laundry. We really didn’t think we’d see it again and my daughter was very sad as it was a childhood toy. I was delighted when they rang me last week to tell me. They promptly posted it back to our home in England and it arrived this morning. That’s service for you - truly going above and beyond . Thank you

“Easy going hotel for a relaxing family break”

The best

Spacious apartments with comfortable beds and a well-maintained bathroom. The kitchen was in good condition with the bonus of a dishwasher, just lacking a few basics such a colander. All the furniture was up to date, and noise from other apartments was not a problem. The main swimming pool is large with a good atmosphere. The breakfast is a generous buffet with plenty of choice. Spa is also useful, and the gym is popular. Overall, we are repeat visitors as this is a good choice for a family looking for 2 bedrooms, a breakfast buffet, and a relaxing, easy going place to unwind.

To be improved

Minor quibbles. Kids need to like swimming as there are no playgrounds, tennis courts, or games room. Parking can also be tricky - the spaces under the apartments are intended for small cars - and there is an extra daily charge. Some of the staff can be a bit frosty. Very limited options for eating out in the immediate area (try the golf club). If you are looking for lively evening entertainment then you may be disappointed.

“Lovely to rest and relax, would come back right away if I could!”

All the staff was super nice and willing to help. The food was varied and very good, there was always something for everyone. Loved the swimming pool and jacuzzi as well, and I recommend the pool bar cocktails. We booked a massage for one of the people in our group and the feedback was great as well.

To be improved

Please note that parking is 12€/night. We still requested it so as not to leave the car outside, but another guest took up our space and we were the ones who had to switch places. There was a kids' pool, so I wished the smaller kids would have been directed to that pool instead of the adults' because it got crowded. Clean-up could be better—we killed 7 silverfish inside the apartment and there were ants in the bathroom (weird, but true!)

“Lovely apartments, spacious, comfortable and clean. Good breakfast buffet Train to the Centro is great · Cons: Some very rude staff at the pool bar. Ruben and David need some hospitality training. Too much to mention here. Lots of strict rules around the pool. Our kids told not to run at the pool. No other kids were told to stop running. We got a warning that our belongings would be removed if we left our sunbeds for more than 1 hour, nobody else was warned. Our son was forbidden from using an inflatable in the pool but other children could. €12 per day to park the car. Why? What are my options?”
