Amazing 1 bed apartment

We have been travelling as a family with booking.com for a few years now, and this is the first accommodation where we unfortunately have to leave a bad review. The arrival was already a problem, the information regarding the accommodation, even after I made a few inquiries, I received only when we arrived on the island at the airport, no one was facing us, the keys were lying, not secured in the water distribution. After entering the apartment, we wanted to leave immediately. The apartment stunk. One double-bed matched the description, but the sofa bed was old, dirty and broken. Although the owner offered accommodation for 4, we were 2 adults and 2 children, the apartment was not ready. I tried to arrange a refund with the owner, saying that the accommodation did not match the description and that we would leave immediately, but he would not agree on anything at all. Phone calls he did not accept, only WhatsApp messages. For 1000 Euro/ 10 nights with children in such an apartment, we did not imagine a holiday. We slept one night because it was already evening, my husband and I on the terrace, the sofa bed could not be used. We waited until 10 pm for bed linen, there were no towels for 4 people. After one night, we packed our bags in the morning, and even though the owner didn't refund our money, we found new accommodation. The fridge was in a disastrous state; no wonder it didn't work. The kitchen old, ants everywhere. I'm attaching photos. I hope families read this review and don't go to this apartment; you really wouldn't want to take your kids there. When we booked the apartment, the owner had the photos on the booking, but then most likely deleted them; they were no longer available. The apartment is on the ground floor; other apartments had bars to ventilate overnight, unfortunately, this apartment did not have them. Wifi wasn't working, was dropping out.I contacted booking.

1. Wi-Fi not working during our stay, says connected on device but then disconnects, spent hours messing around trying to sort this ended up buying a data bundle from EE and connecting devices through hotspot. 2. Kitchen (units etc) could with an upgrade, cold water tap not working so have to use hot only which was scolding hot So be careful! Fridge door doesn’t close properly (outer) or the mini freezer compartment door (inner) unless you pay attention and click it right in (basically needs a new fridge). 3. Needs a toaster (most people like toast no!?). Needs an extra frying pan (very hard to do a half decent breakfast in one pan) also the pans need to be Induction type for the Induction hob as normal pans don’t work properly… 4. There is a small fan but hardly get anything from it, wasn’t too bad for our stay (May) but in July/August 🥵 So would recommend a bigger fan on a stand (€25). All of these small issues could easily be sorted in less than a day and would make things that much better and more comfortable… *That all said I would still recommend this apartment for a short break* Mainly down to the location being so good…

Could benefit with a thermal blind in living room as it did get warm in the evening

Had trouble with getting details for checkin. There was no t towel and the fridge needs looking at as it kept defrosting. There was only a trickle of cold water coming out of th kitchen tap. This is just information for the owners, we still had an enjoyable stay.

Some furniture was rough around the edges however the cleanliness counteracts this
