“Villa just needed some care and maintenance”

The villa has great potential. We felt it was just not made ready for guests. This reflects our views for the things we thought could have been improved, before we arrived. Our experience was not as good as we believe it could have been! The pool, grounds, spaces to sit, beds and number of bedrooms and bathrooms were all good, after some of the snags were fixed.

To be improved

All the items, were referred to the agency that was responsible for renting this Villa. They did respond well to our complaints and tried to fix some, if not all of them: We needed the pest control to come in to reduce a major infestation of cockroaches. It seemed to work, and greatly reduced the number entering the Villa. The pool tiles were extremely slippery when you walked on them, when wet. It was necessary to borrow crockery and cutlery from one or other of the 2 kitchens, so that we could all eat together. There were no guides for any of the equipment, in the villa. There were no oven gloves, in either of the 2 kitchens. One of the TVs didn't work and one bedroom had no working lights. The microwave was difficult to use, safely, if you were not tall. The grounds and around the pool had not been cleaned up before our arrival and inside the villa, walls and surfaces were marked or unclean. We spent 2 hours cleaning the villa, on our arrival, to make it safe before our 90 years old Nana arrived, to join us. Dirty cups were found in the cupboard. Some of the bedding was stained or appeared unwashed (we did receive all new clean bedding, after my phone call to the emergency contact number). The sunbed cushions were a bit worn. The pool heating was not turned on, before our arrival, and took 4 days to warm up.
