“Central apartment but with a strong smell of damp.”

The apartment is within 10-15 minutes walking distance from the centre and main sites. Xavi very kindly let us check in early, was communicative and responsive, and gave us good directions.

To be improved

There's a very strong smell of damp in the property, even with the windows open. This makes it uncomfortable and unpleasant. The tiny balcony and all the windows face a wall, with no view at all. The apartment is on a steep hill going down to the town hall. There are moving ramps to help you climb back up. We didn't find this a problem, but people with mobility issues would find it particularly difficult to go down the hill.

“Superb”

The best

A good apartment that had everything we needed. Lots of room, a little out of the main area but so close to a metro station, and can walk from the apartment to the old town and the Guggenheim. Also, great contact with hosts. Highly recommend.

To be improved

Don’t be turned off by the scaffolding!

“Great Apartment in Bilbao”

The best

I liked the personal greeting and advice about Bilbao from Xavi, particularly the tip to buy a Barik card for discounted travel. We loved the location which is close to metro and bus stops and an easy walk to the river. There are local shops and bars if you need supplies. Bilbao was great and we went out to Getxo by metro as well as seeing the main sights. The apartment is small but fine for 2. The bed was very comfortable. I would stay here again on my next visit.

To be improved

There was a problem with the shower when we arrived but it was fixed within a day or so. Also there was repair work on the roof so scaffolding over the windows made it dark, but this should be short term as well. The balcony and courtyard are tiny so don't expect to be able to sit outside, although not a problem in November.

“Good for a convinient short stay!”

The best

The owner was super helpful and welcoming! Gave me the best tips for the trip :) The apartment is simple, but has everything you need for a city trip with a quite comfortable bed.

To be improved

There was a construction work which made the flat super dark (no light comes in even with windows opened), and we the construction started already at 9am it was hard to relax - would have been nice to be informed beforehand Overall the apartment was quite clean (toilet, bed) but the floor was a bit dirty in a couple of places
