“Exceptional”

I stayed in Apartamento Ene one in March 2024 and it very easily exceeded my expectations. The apartment is located right in historic center of Cartagena, about 1min walking from the Roman Theatre, 5min from the townhall and 15min from the train station. Before entering the apartment I met up with the host at the bar downstairs, who handed me the keys and quickly gave me a tour around the apartment. During my whole stay in Cartagena he was always available and willing to answer questions regarding the place or activities in the town. The cleanliness of the apartment and the state of the furniture and appliances were all exceptional, the bed was very comfortable and the apartment smelled nice and clean.

To be improved

Personally, there is nothing that I disliked. For others it might be worth mentioning that the apartment is located on the second floor and can only be reached by climbing a narrow and steep staircase. This might be come in problematic with people who travel with (bigger) suitcases. Another thing worth noting is that on Saturday nights tehre might be noise coming up from the people gathering on the street. Again, this did not bother me, but people who are sensitive to loud noises at night might consider this.

“Cartagena, a town filled with multilayered history from past to present day. I could live here.”

The best

The house is in the heart of the old town, just 10 mins from most of the attractions and the harbour. And Teatro Romano at the end of the street, visible from the balcony. Well aquiped spacious one bedroom flat in a charming old house. Quite high and narrow stairs to climb, so if you are ok with climbing two flights of stairs and don't have too much luggage this is perfect place to stay. Also lots of cozy, local shops, cafes and restaurants near you. If you like walks and swimming, 4 km from the flat (behind the Cartagena Harbour) is a small beach, Cala Cortina, with a really good restaurant and beautiful sunsets.

To be improved

If you are a light sleeper and staying here between thursday and sunday you will be disturbed by the loud discussions of the people going to/ comming from the nearby disco, which is open from 11.30PM TO 7:00AM on those three nights/mornigs.

The best

Nice little apartment, clean. The host was great. He helped with my bags and showed me were the bus was and got me checked into my new place. He is the best thing about the place.

To be improved

I book for 2 for 6 days there were only 2 bath towels and one hand towel. This isn't enough. There should be some note that this is on the second floor and the stairs are small. I was unable to handle my bags.
