Apartamento Haitz

Bathroom sink did not drain.

Kitchen equipment needs a refresh. Apartment was also not really clean - should be improved.

We were pilgrims and had arranged luggage transfers with Correos. We walk, Correos drops our bags at the next town. I had booked Haiz before realising Correos doesn't like dropping at apartments, but wrote to Haiz and they assured me it would all be cool and they would accommodate. Two days before arriving Haiz wrote and said there would be a surcharge of Euro 10 per person for the service. I asked them to please cancel- taking into account how Correos were problematic, it would be easier for us to stay in a hotel. Haiz backtracked and said no problem with the bag drop and no charge. Well... I initially told Haiz we would arrive "about" 4 pm. About being the operative word, given we are walking and have no idea how long anything really is (these mountains are big and one must go over them). We stopped for a breather about an hour away from the Guernica, at 4.15 pm, and I saw 7 missed calls on my Whatsapp (my Whatsapp doesn't accept calls from unknown numbers). This was the extremely cheerful owner's mum, and she was not cheerful at all. Long story short, I was late, and mum was very upset that I was late- plus even more so for having to arrange logistics with Correos. We eventually got there and sat on the street until mum eventually arrived with our luggage and tossed us the keys (then realising we may need the room number, took us up to the apartment). The moral? This place isn't for pilgrims- and most definitely not for luggage transfers.
