Apartamento Lavanda

- Street noise - Uncomfortable beds - Damp smell in second bedroom - Property was rundown and in need of repair (kitchen cupboards rotten and collapsing, old shower).

Could do with two bathrooms if there was 2 couples and two sets of keys

The stairs to the building were very dangerous and we had to take great care. There was 1 set of keys which was for the door 2 floors up and the gate at street level. As there were 4 of us if anyone wanted to go out and someone wanted to stay home they had to go down and pass over the key as if the gate closed the people left behind would not be able to get out. The rooms were very overlooked by all the surrounding properties so you had to keep the curtains closed which made the rooms very dark. The bed frame was stupidly big and you had to take constant care not to hit off it especially at night. There is no wardrobe in the master bedroom only very oversized un useful furniture. The bathroom was not good for showers as no shower curtain. We had to sit to have a shower but the floor still got very wet. The apartment has no air conditioning (we found fans in the wardrobe in the kids room which we only found while packing up to go) You could not open the window as the window were very heavy and old and banged in the wind a lot. The area is very very noisy both day and night. Cafe’s and a petrol station right outside the window and the main music square directly behind. So it was noisy from early when the cafe opened at 8 in the morning and music was still playing in the bars at 4am. The terrace is very lovely but is shared with the other apartment which is not clear on the site. We left this property due to a problem between the owner and Bookings. We are 3rd Level Genus customers and have never experienced anything of this sort before. Once home Bookings sorted the mess out and apologised.

The kitchen is kept very simple. There is only a stovetop and no oven. Also not a lot of cooking utensils or basics like oil or salt & pepper. So it is easiest to just head out for meals, which is fairly easy with that location! During our stay it was quite noisy. You could hear loud live music every day of the week until late night, but we aren’t sure if that was because of the carnival preparation or if it is always like that.

All the 40 stairs to front door and 10 more to the sun terrace . Needs some clothes pegs for washing English TV would be fantastic or even one English channel , could get no English speaking TV The host did provide a new TV during our stay, but did not be appear to be connected to Internet. Not really a issue for me more for my husband , we did stay 4 weeks ...... and had couple nights in , would be a bonus .
