At first, the apartment looked fantastic. But we quickly noticed a lot of things which displeased us. The cleanliness and maintenence of the whole place was bad. Zero cleaning supplies were included. No dishwasher tablets, no cleaning sprays, no floor cleaner, no laundry detergent, nothing! There was a random bottle of window cleaner and bin bags that did not fit the bucket used for a bin. Host supplied 2 cloths and 2 dish sponges. There was an empty bottle of fairy liquid (dish detergent) next to the sink. There was no hand soap in the kitchen or one of the bathrooms. Needing to take a trip to purchase all these items was very annoying and costly. We couldn't even bring all these cleaning supplies home with us as we were flying and they would have weighed a lot in our suitcase. There was broken glass in the dishwasher and the filter was absolutely disgusting. It hadn't been cleaned in a very long time and the whole dishwasher smelled bad. I had to scrub it clean. Same with the washing machine. It smelled horrendous and had viable dirt all over it. The kitchen sink was literally brown with dirt so we also had to clean this. Underbed drawers had not been cleaned and had lots of dirt, dust and human hairs. Cutlery and dishes were dirty with dried on food. Having to clean on your first day of a holiday is not good enough. There are 2 showers, and both were broke, so we had to hold the shower head for the entire duration of our showers. I notified the host and she had someone fix it 2 days later. Minor issue, but there was no plugs for the bath (or any sinks) so I had to use random items to try keep the water in while my son had a bath. He's too young for showers. One of the back doors did not lock at all. It was completely broken. They are sliding doors, so this meant anyone could literally open the door easily and enter the apartment. I notified the host and it was fixed 2 days later.
