Apartamento Playa Honda

Our contact person was Christina, who may or may not have been an agent.. Prior to arriving we had sent two messages that were ignored, this was an indicator of things to come. We then sent the 3rd message which was answered in a timely manner. On arrival we saw that there was a rear door from our bedroom to the outside that could not be locked, as there was a key broken in the lock. We contacted Christina who denied that this would be a problem ! She said that itr opened out unto a terrace and that nobody could get into the terrace, which had a wall behind it. I explained to her that I could easily jump this wall myself, I am in my 60’s. Eventually after some lengthy persuasion she agreed to have the lock repaired though she did not give us any idea of when. Shortly after this phonecall with Christina, we noticed a movement sensor and camera in the kitchen area pointing at the front door. We found the idea of a camera in our living area unattractive. We later found another camera and movement sensor pointing at our bed and the back door in our bedroom.. This was completely unacceptable to us, so we phoned Christina again. Christina’s attitude was similar to our 1st phone call, she denied that there were cameras in the apartment and suggested that these were only alarm systems without a camera. Later in that conversation, she agreed that there was a camera in the living area but none in the bedroom and the cameras only worked when the alarm was activated, she guaranteed. Later, she agreed that both were cameras. Later that day, a repairman came to fix the lock while we were resting, this was a good response but we did not know that he was coming at that time. When Christina later came to the apartment she admitted that she didn't know that there was a camera in the back bedroom.. The repair on the same day was good but we felt that it should have been fixed before our arrival. In summary, we were very disappointed with the attitude of our contact, Christina.

Some of the fittings needed updated - the kitchen units were functional but old. We would have welcome an electric kettle and a toaster but the apartment didn’t have these. The sofa bed was okay, but there were no sheets or duvet cover for the bedding. On the morning of arrival, I had to phone the host to find out how we could get the apartment keys - I would have like them to send an email in good time , to explain apartment info in advance.

Nothing everything was great even had a washing machine

The apartment is mostly clean, however, the shower curtain is mouldy, torn and hanging off the rail - this is so easy to replace and would make a big difference. The bed squeaks with every movement and my husband found it really uncomfortable.
