There is no AC in the bedroom and the one with 2 beds would be hot at night (there was a small fan provided). Other reviews also mention that the area is not the best. It is very centrally located but there are some strange people at night. During the day it is perfectly fine but at night there can be lots of random men loitering or “crackheads”. Honestly they did not bother us and it was not loud outside at night but we were 3 muscular men and 1 girl so it is safer for us. Also we live in Toronto so people acting like that on the streets is normal for us.

Check in was incredibly difficult. We were given the wrong keys and had to wait outside for more than an hour with my 2 young kids late evening to get the problem sorted.

Needs more cutlery, there wasn't enough for the four of us. There's damp in the wall between the bathroom and hall that needs looking at. There was loads of bedding in the wardrobes, but only one pillow each. We asked for more pillow cases so we could have additional pillows but no one replied.

The check in process is horrible. You have to go to a website and filll out a bunch of information and even upload your passport. My phone had only 10% battery left and the upload of my information took forever, the website would time out, and I had to start over. Contacting the house was even worse. First time I got someone on the phone they only spoke Spanish since I speak English I didn't even know who I was talking to. About the third time of trying to call I finally got someone that spoke english. They weren't very helpful in solving the problem of getting into the apartment. They could have sent someone but they didn't. Finally they overrided the system to get in by giving us the passcodes to get the keys or to get the entrance into the apartment. After we were in the apartment about 5 minutes later they did send someone. We waited in 100° heat to try to get in this apartment. It took nearly over 2 hours to get to get in. The hosts were certainly the worst part of the check-in process. They could have helped us but they didn't soon enough. I have to say this is the most frustrated experience in my whole travels. This is the only time that I truly pursued to get my money back because it was so frustrating I nearly had a breakdown. Second to that, the location is in a rundown part of town that's about 10 minutes walk to all the touristy places. We walked past bunch of homeless people past out in the park. It was kind of scary scary walking past them with backpacks on clearly identified as tourists. Since we got lost we had to go by that Park several times and every time I thought we were going to get robbed and jumped. While walking to the apartment all we could do is smell urine.
