A quiet, authentic Malagan neighborhood where locals live—not just tourists. The apartment has a TV with Netflix and YouTube, a large fridge with freezer, and good shower water pressure. Once you get familiar with the area, you’ll start to notice plenty of restaurants, small grocery stores, and charming mom-and-pop fruit shops nearby. It’s not luxurious, but if you want essential amenities, the freedom to cook, and a more local, lived-in feel—with two bedrooms—this place is a solid choice.

To be improved

The beds need improvement. In the twin room, the bases were very light and shifted easily, and the mattresses became lumpy after a while. Although it's about 1 km from the city center, access to public transport isn’t ideal—reaching the nearest metro or train station requires either a bus ride (Bus 20) or a walk of about 1 km, which could be challenging for those with mobility issues.

The best

Location was very quiet outside of the centre but close enough to walk. Several supermarkets nearby. A lot of things you’d need were there, like a beach umbrella. Alberto who came to give us the keys was very helpful…arranged a taxi for us to the airport.

To be improved

The room with the single beds closet door wouldn’t open. Made it a bit difficult to store clothes and other items. Bathroom could do with updating. But it was serviceable good water pressure in the shower.

Spacious and clean apartment. Alberto (the host) was kind and received us before check-in time and he let us leave the ap later on the last day.

To be improved

The only heat source is AC. It was not very comfortable to sleep all night with the AC on (it makes noise when it stops and starts), in addition, it dries out the air. An electric heater would be useful because the apartment is located on the top floor and is quite cool. The ap is located a bit far from the historical center (arround 20-25 min walk) in a not very clean area. Soundproofing not very good. You have the impression that the neighbors are in the adjoining room. Luckily, the large bedroom was secluded and we could sleep in quiet (because the neighbors were very party people...every night). The hot water was not enough for 2 people. You had to wait for the water in the boiler to heat up.
