“Well-located apartment with unusual layout - Great for a one-night stay”

Apartamentos Arquitas is extremely well situated, just steps away from the Guadiana River (which has lovely paths for walking or running), the Roman Bridge, and the entrance to the Alcazaba. It is only a 3 minute walk to the Plaza de España, which leads to a sprawling pedestrian area of shops and restaurants. From the apartment it was only a 15 minute walk to the principal Roman Ruins (the Teatro and Anfiteatro). Inside the apartment itself, the highlight for our five-person family group was the comfort of the beds. It was also clean and - once we figured out how to operate the thermostat - warm. The owner was very responsive before, during, and after our stay.

To be improved

The apartment is configured less like a 3-bedroom apartment and more like one big common space, with a few light, translucent dividers. Because the walls separating the sleeping areas are made of glass - and because the bathroom doors made of hanging doors - light and sound travel freely within the space. It would be impossible for someone in the common area to read or watch TV, for instance, without those in the bedrooms having their spaces illuminated and having to listen to the sound of the TV. The kitchen space was also awkwardly configured, and really would be a tricky setup for someone who wanted to cook a proper meal.
