Our stay at the Ben Hur apartment was overall quite positive. The apartment was clean and offered a good amount of space, making it comfortable for our needs. The location was excellent, providing easy access to local attractions and amenities. However, there were a couple of downsides that affected our experience. There was a persistent terrible smell, reminiscent of sewage, which was quite unpleasant. Additionally, some of the kitchenware, particularly the pan, was in poor condition and should be replaced to ensure a better cooking experience for guests.
“Cons: Extremely Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend I had a deeply frustrating and disappointing experience at Hotel Ben-Hur in Palma de Mallorca. Prior to my arrival, I emailed the hotel on March 24th to notify them of my updated check-in date and time, I would be arriving at 12 AM on April 4th instead of the original date of April 5th. I asked if there would be any issues and what the procedure was for check-ins at that time. The hotel assured me that check-in was available 24/7 and that everything would be fine. They also confirmed that I could adjust my booking date and pay the difference upon arrival. However, when I arrived at the hotel at midnight on April 4th, there was no room available for me. The staff member on duty was clearly unprepared and visibly nervous. He lacked information or instructions and treated us in a condescending and rude manner, asking inappropriate questions as if we were completely unfamiliar with the situation. He couldn’t locate our reservation, despite it having been confirmed and paid (aside from the additional night, which we had already agreed to cover). Shockingly, at one point, he even knocked on the door of an occupied room, assuming it was empty at 2 AM. It was a highly embarrassing and stressful experience. After more than an hour of trying to resolve the issue, we were told our only option was to sleep on the couch in the hotel lobby, free of charge. This was unacceptable. Exhausted and frustrated, we left and walked around the streets at 3 AM trying to find alternative accommodation. Eventually, we had to book a last-minute room at a nearby hotel for €266, for just a few hours of rest. When we returned later to check in at Hotel Ben-Hur, we were told we couldn’t do so until 3 PM and that no room had been assigned to us. Again, we had to pay the difference for the early arrival, which we did, despite being extremely upset.”
