“We arrived at the Bruja apartments after spending two nights at another hotel, which we had to leave in a hurry because nothing there met our expectations. On that contrast, Bruja felt like a true escape — spacious, comfortable, peaceful, and finally, a place where we could truly relax. The apartment is very large and bright, with big windows and a balcony offering a nice city view. Of course, we would have loved a sea view, but since we booked it last minute and managed to get the number of nights we needed, we were more than happy. The interior is modern and stylish, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Highlights include: – fresh, white, and pleasantly scented towels, – bathroom amenities, – a good hairdryer, – a functional kitchen, – and a washing machine. A few small things were missing, like wine glasses and detergent for the washing machine — we actually bought some wine glasses and left them for future guests, hope they come in handy :) The location is also great: not in the very center, but just a 10-minute walk to the main avenue, about 20 minutes to the bus station, and there's a bus stop just steps away — super convenient. Some guests might find the cleanliness not absolutely perfect, but compared to the place we came from, it was honestly wonderful. We felt right at home and didn’t want to leave. We’d be happy to stay here again the next time we visit Santa Cruz!”

“Avoid this apartment”

The best

Only positive aspect was the centric location and the free parking spots in the streets nearby.Despite being categorized as a double superior appartment, everything was low quality in apartment 68, on the sixth floor: 1- Uncomfortable beds, felt like sleeping on a bag of stones. After three nights sleeping there, our backs, necks and legs were in pain. 2- Sickening pipe smell coming from the kitchen sink and the shower. The smell was gradually getting worse during the three days of our stay and seemed to be caused by a general problem in the sewage system of the building. It could be noticed even when coming out of the elevator and at the entrance of the apartement as well. 3- High temperatures: average temperature above 30 degrees Celsius inside the apartment as no air conditioning available. Opening the windows during the whole day did not help in this case. We requested help to the reception staff and on the second day of our stay, they provided us with a rudimentary electric fan, which was not efficient to mitigate the heat inside our room, especially to sleep at night. We filed a formal complaint at the end of our stay via the 'hoja de reclamaciones' because we felt that we had been scammed by paying to stay at this place which was below all the basic hospitality services.

“Modern and comfortable stay in Santa Cruz”

The best

The modern options of access (instead of a card/key). The solarium/pool that has an amazing view of the city and mountains. Good service for replacing a broken facility. The modern look and the amount of space in the room. I would definitely recommend it.

To be improved

There was a lamp not working. The shower glass divider was allowing water to leak out of the shower. There were also some things missing in the kitchen: bowls and a plastic spatula to protect the teflon pans.
