“Bad”

The best

This was the worst place I have ever been to. The first thing we didn’t know was that they charge a deposit, and after booking—which was non-refundable—we had to leave a deposit of £150. However, we paid the deposit and arrived late. The key was a 20-minute drive away, and after we took the key, the address could not be found. There was no response whatsoever from the host. After checking all the doors for about two hours, we eventually found the house. The house was situated in a nice area, but it was moldy, dirty, and disgusting. There was nothing in it—not even a kettle, shower gel, or towels. The blankets were also disgusting, and I can’t describe all the problems with the house. Additionally, we had to drive another 20 minutes to return the keys. I really don’t understand the purpose of the deposit for such a dirty and dilapidated place, which we would never have stayed in unless we were extremely tired.

It was almost as cheap as the campsite we tried a short distance away

To be improved

We arrived on bicycles and then realised we had a 15km ride to pick up the keys. Not the best at the end of a long day. The air con unit was too noisy to use and so the apartment was a little cold in late March. It took a while to find the tap to turn on the water which was turned off when we arrived as were the electrics.
