“Very very basic. Ok for two nights, not more. Only spanish communication.”

The best

Closed to gateway to hiking but naturally this was the main reason for staying in Arenas de Cabrales. Good double bed, lots of parking soace back house. No need to rent å spot in p-house.

To be improved

Very basic kitchen equipment, bad sofa for sleeping, difficult communication with flat manager. The client needs to use google translate for long messages from them which do include little practical info.

“You stay for the location”

The best

Location is close to Arenas restaurants and shops and an ideal starting point to explore Picos de Europa.

To be improved

Hosts: a very elaborate text with all the information/requirements is provided up front and you only interact with somebody briefly to settle additional costs (pet fee, parking). We didn’t feel welcome at all. Parking: very difficult to manoeuvre as space is very limited. In hindsight it was also not needed to book it as there are plenty of parking lots nearby (felt a bit like a moneygrab) Appartement: had a very basic and sterile feel. After a hike we would linger elsewhere because the apartment felt unwelcome. We really missed a balcony or some cozy (outside) space. Also not soundproof at all, you could hear your neighbours very well.

The best

The location was great, lovely town, easy to walk to supermarket, shops & restaurants. The apartment was very clean, well decorated & very comfortable. There was secure parking in the basement but you didn’t need really need to pay for this as there was plenty of parking next to the property.

“Great place to stay in Arenas”

The best

Spacious and spotless apartment which had everything we needed and great views. Really handy for walking around Arenas town with a big public car park right behind it for parking. We spent 4 nights here and really enjoyed it.

To be improved

Check in information was confusing. Despite doing online check in in advance, and the booking confirmation saying we would get key instructions after doing online check in, we didn't receive any information about how to get the keys. We had no response to messages, phone calls or WhatsApps until 30minutes before check in, which caused some stress on route to the apartment.
