Very quiet grounds and nice location for a peaceful stay. Great for isolation from the world. Good TV, can use some better sound.

To be improved

The pool deck needs some work, and sound proofing in the bedrooms and bathroom recommended! Could use a small inside table or desk to complete the needs one usually has in the use of space. Sink not suitable for kitchen use in kitchen, a unit on wheels recommended for some more workspace when needing to cook. Not much going on in town close by, Monday eves are rather dead!

“Review of resort”

The best

We know this area very well, as we have a house in the village, but the last time we'd been, Finca Contrabando hadn't been built (pre covid). We stayed there as we had friends with us and 'not enough room at the Inn'. All I can say is fantastic. The salt water pool is epic (although a tad cool in April). Marta and the facility staff couldn't do more to help us. We fly in and out of Faro, and mis planned our transport to the airport needing a 5 seater cab early in the morning. One call to Marta (who speaks excellent english) and it was all sorted, cab turned up early the next day, and we had hassle free trip home. The Rio Guardiana is the boarder between Portual and Spain, all the locals are universally friendly (although if you know the basics of the language, it is warmly appreciated). Paying for goods by chip and pin/ contact less is not an issue either.there are regular ferry crossing every half hour between the villages, Finca Contrabando has its own jetty, so literally door to door service every half hour, or on demand if needed. We were a couple, but the rooms would be perfectly suited to families of up to 5 persons.
