Great location mentioned, with proximity to the sea and local attractions.
Most staff were described as friendly and helpful, though there were some critical comments about reception staff.
Mixed reviews overall, but several positive remarks about some aspects of the stay.
Hotel is reasonably good value for money compared to the rest of the resort.
On-site food options were appreciated, with reasonable prices for drinks.
Good amenities like a pool and bar were noted, although additional charges were mentioned.
“Scruffy”
We've stayed at the Hesperia Bristol quite a few times and this will definetely be our last! It's always been "cheap and cheerful" but we've seen the standards drop year after year. The whole place is tired and needs a complete shut down and refurbishment! Rooms have chipped and flaking paint, the bottom of the fridge was rusty, inside the cupboards there is ingrained dirt, bathroom has ingrained dirt in corners, rooms are serviced at the most once per week and you have to ask for this to happen! It can be a very noisy place with us witnessing residents playing drinking games at the pool bar and shouting and screaming! When I mentioned this at reception and that people shouldn't be subjected to this including families with young children having to listen to it, they said the pool bar was independently managed and it would be best if I addressed it with the bar myself!! I explained that it was a direct reflection on the hotel as they said they owned the land the bar was on and if they wanted guests to return it would be in their interest to have a word with the bar manager and the disruptive guests. My advice would be to avoid staying here even though it's a budget friendly establishment!!
“Honest Review”
Here now This was a last minute booking for us . .and having read reviews came with an open mind but low expectations but I'm pleased to say it has exceeded my expectations....we have a second floor apartment promised a pool view but have both sea and pool in block E The apartment is basically furnished but clean and has all essentials for self catering if you choose to cook. Admittedly, no oven, but you're in Corralejo where to eat out there is so much choice and quality . Great spacious shower and bathroon equipt with shampoo/shower gel and hand-wash . .towels pure white and soft Supplied with washing up liquid, sponge, cloth ,tea towel which was a nice touch Cups quite small so we bought a couple mugs for our stay for that morning cuppa There is a pool /snack bar during day that serves English breakfast until 1pm .bar at night with entertainment most nights open till 1am , onsite supermarkets, all reasonably priced Ample sun beds and friendly helpful staff to make you feel welcome No more than a 7min walk to music square and taxi to main street only 3/4 euro depending on time day /night 4 star given as all room needs is a lick of paint in place to freshen up, and it would be perfect but saying that would definitely stay here again after this experience..
“You get more than you paid for here.”
Does what it says on the tin! We didn't pay a lot of money for this holiday and were a bit concerned having read some of the reviews. We could not have been more pleasantly surprised. These apartments are right on the sea front and have nice sliding glass doors to reception. Check in was easy. Our apartment was ground floor and our patio led out to the pool very near the pool bar. Patio area was sheltered which was handy as it was very windy and a bit cool when the sun was behind the clouds. The pool bar was excellent, very well run with a good choice of food and drinks. The apartment was a little dated but this did not bother us. The main thing was it was clean and spacious, beds comfy and kitchen facilities fine. The on site supermarket was brilliant for what we needed and saved a trip to one further away. The only reason I give 4/5 is that we were not offered a clean and bed change until day 6, the day before we were leaving. It would have been better to have been mid stay. However you can get fresh towels at reception any time required and they were really good quality. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
“Bites!!!!”
Just come home after a week and absolutely covered in bites. Did mention to reception and they said it was mosquittos. Looks like bedbugs so very disapointed with this accomodation. Will be talking to jet 2 today.
“Ok for 3 star”
I booked 5 nights here as a solo, check In isn’t until 5pm which is too late. Nice pool area and decent food and drinks at the pool side bar. Room basic but does the job, stayed 5 nights and room wasn’t cleaned at all , bins not emptied, very unhygienic. Around 8 minute walk to music square but wouldn’t walk home alone as it’s a bit quiet and slightly remote.
“Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Up your game or close down.”
This hotel is tired! Very tired, dated and a little sad. Beautifully located with a sea view (just across the road) and a pool view out of the other window. Well the roof of the pool bar anyway!!! This is the main road to the port and through the island so is busy. So what could be so bad?!? The pools look lovely but we have lots of smashed tiles around the area. The pool area is not sheltered from the wind as I had hoped. The hotel bar area is tragic!! Mismatched patio furniture rather than indoor furniture. No atmosphere, it’s just a room that happens to have a bar in it. The pool bar has the usual plastic chairs and standard food offerings. We didn’t try it but it seemed popular with other holidaymakers. The handle to the room is old and rusted and manages your expectations before you enter. First thing you experience is sound then smell. The wind whistles through the ‘closed’ window and there is an aroma. Is it damp? Is it from the bathroom? drains?? Unsure. Couldn’t put my finger on it. The apartment is spacious and needs a refresh, an update to take it from shabby to shabby chic! The bathroom at first glance looks fresh but on closer inspection the rust on the shower door is a reflection on the rest of the apartment. Chipped doors, peeling paint. Lovely big fluffy towels deserve a mention. Kitchen area is basic but clean so no negativity around this. Beds comfy and we needed extra blankets as cold at night (not helped by the noise of the wind coming in through the windows). Photos will show the efforts we took to stop the wind blowing in. With poor weather due to an Atlantic storm and with badly sealed windows, whistling winds and wafting curtains you can’t get warm in the apartment…. Sigh. Annabel the Jet 2 rep advised us “The patio doors are designed to let you out onto the balcony and not to keep the wind or rain out”! Now as some of the Canaries are known for the wind/healthy breeze it would seem logical to have doors that shut tight. It scrapes a two star, possibly.
