Apartamentos Lizamar San José Cabo de Gata

At 3 am on the first night I was awakened by bats (yes, plural) flying around the bedroom and living room. I informed the property the next day and they simply shrugged it off. For the rest of our stay, we tried to sleep with closed windows and the (overly bright) lights on. Even with closed windows, on the second night, we were kept awake until 1 am by noise from the guests in the apartment below. At that point we asked them to keep it down, and fortunately they did. Though the property looks modern in the photographs, the quality of furnishings (bed, sofa) is poor. So even on a third night, I barely slept. There is a lack of attention to detail when it comes to simple amenities: the TV remote was out of batteries, there were no paper towels or napkins, no medicine cabinet. So when I cut my finger I had to go out and purchase band-aids and iodine. While the location seemed convenient on the map, it's a steep hike up to the apartment from the main street and the beach. Where this property has great attention to detail is in finding reasons to not return a deposit. After we left, to justify keeping our money, the property sent us 4+ pictures as "evidence" that there was dog hair found in the apartment. I chose this place because they admitted pets and was prepared to pay an additional fee for our dog's stay. What I was not prepared for was a CSI-level report to discuss how dog hair had landed on a 3 euro IKEA sheet. After 3 sleepless nights I had no energy to argue that dog hair does not constitute property damage, so I let it go. I'll just think of how the money they docked from the deposit can help them buy 10 more sheets, or perhaps some steel wool to keep out the bats?

The mattress on the double bed was a little hard but that is a personal preference.
