“Just book and go”
We were here at the end of October staying in a 2 bedroomed apartment. The apartment was spotlessly clean and so much space.. everything you needed was available and if there was an issue it was sorted straight away. There was 3 ring hob, an oven, microwave, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. All cutlery and crockery you could imagine. Washing up liquid, sponge, cloth and tea towels. A living room with a smart tv and wifi. If you are looking to go here go do not hesitate. The location was perfect close to sea, bars and restaurants. The pool was quiet we never had a problem getting a sunbed and the pool was lovely. We ate in the restaurant and the food and staff were lovely. Bus stop out side reception and caves to visit next door. Lovely lovely lovely.
“Maribel delivered for us.”
Over the years, we have walked by this place, but never stayed there, or in fact stopped for food. Having a few days away in October, Maribel popped up, so we thought we would give it a go. Knowing the area, we weren't going to be too fussed on the outcome. We loved it, in a nutshell. A large 2 bedroom apartment, which was spotlessly clean. From check in to check out, everything was great. The Restaurant is also excellent, having a very broad menu, even at the end of the season, everything was available. All the staff we met were warm & friendly. Cala Blanca is a quiet area, even in the height of summer, so if you are looking to relax, having a base between two beaches & near the City of Ciutadella, then this could be the place for you. Also seems to be a popular meeting place for the locals, which only adds to the feeling of the place. Anything to moan about? The door handle to the Apartment was a bit wobbly, and I would expect this at the end of a season, where doors have probably been slammed. So all in all, for a 3 Star Apartment block in a fantastic location, then it gets the thumbs up from me. If you want to be like a local, see the Police rock up for a morning coffee & the locals, then this is real Menorca.
“I'm coming back”
from checking in to leaving had a lovely time. This is such a friendly place, as a solo lady traveller I felt very comfortable and safe. The apartment was large, spotless and had a nice balcony. The swimming pool is one of the best, it can fill up with locals but this wasn't a problem as everyone was there to enjoy themselves. Suits families with small children or older couples, enjoyed it so much have already booked again for next May.
“Amazing place”
I have nothing but positive things to share. I travelled with daughter and granddaughter for a week. The check in process was very quick. We were staying self catering. The apartment was very clean and the kitchen area was well equipped with utensils etc so was easy to make anything. A modern hob was in place along with a microwave with an oven. We had a one bedroom apartment that was 2 single beds and a cot in the bedroom and also a double sofa bed in the lounge. Very spacious balcony too with table and chairs and washing line. The location of the hotel is great. About a 5 minute walk to the beach which is an idyllic cove with bars on either side. It was very busy everytime we went. There is another beach about 20 minutes walk away which is also lovely. Stepping out of the hotel there are 2 supermarkets and about 7 or 8 restaurants . We ate in a few and had lovely meals. There is a restaurant in the hotel which is open all day serving meals and snacks and drinks. There is also a pool bar. The pool is lovely - it is open to the general public but this didnt bother us. We used to get to the pool around 930 am each morning and we were often the first there. Always plenty of sunbeds, no need to reserve them. All the staff we came across were lovely. What I liked (probably because I am older) was there was no loud music booming away around the pool, no animation team asking to play volleyball etc. so this made it more relaxing. The only slight negative I have is because the hotel is not high rise and apartments are dotted around the complex,, there are no lifts. Our apartment was at the top of around 13 steps and as we had a pram each time we went in an out of the apartment we had to carry the pram up which is the heat wasnt great but apart from that I would definitely recommend this place to stay and would like to return in the future.l
“Menorcan Magic!”
A last minute booking for me, my daughter and granddaughter and it was definitely worth the trip. The reception staff, especially Felix were super and the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was quite large, clean and well presented. We chose self catering, but had dinner once in the hotel as well as snacks round the pool. All the food was tasty and well presented. The pool was fantastic for children and adults and there was never a shortage of sunbeds. The Cala Blanca beach nearby is a gem, small and quite quiet, but surrounded by really nice restaurants. It is a short taxi ride into Cuitadella(9€) where there are great restaurants round the harbour and markets and boutiques, if shopping is your thing. All in all a great experience which I would highly recommend.
“Noise. Noise. Noise. Moved Out Early. Never Again.”
I, along with my wife, daughter and 85 year old mother spent 6 nights at the Maribel Apartments. As my mother is disabled we'd asked for accommodation with as few steps/stairs as possible. So obviously we were allocated a duplex apartment with all the bedrooms upstairs. Other than that the apartment itself was fine, nothing special but as expected. Our apartment was in a block of 5. Unfortunately the other 4 apartments in the block of 5 were occupied by what seemed to be about 30 French students celebrating the end of their university studies. Good for them I say, but what possessed the management of the apartments to allocate a family with an 85 year old disabled lady an apartment in amongst a load of partying students is beyond me. Not surprisingly, the students were extremely noisy late at night and into the morning, despite the complex rule that guests should be quiet after 9.00pm. After 2 very noisy nights, when our neighbours partied into the early hours, we asked to be moved to a quiet area of the complex. We were duly moved to an apartment that we were assured was in an area for families only and was very quiet. Our new apartment was in a block of 8 of which 4 others seemed to be occupied. There were 3 families, so far so good. A couple of hours after we arrived we noticed that the other apartment was occupied by a group of 5 young girls going through their Instagram routines. Hmm not really a family I thought but it turned out it our first night was their last. There was some late night noise from them, presumably moving their gear out. A bit annoying, since this was, we were told, a quiet part of the complex for families only, but the girls were a lot quieter than the crowd of students. Then at about midnight we were awoken by a complete racket coming from the pool area. The management of the complex had allocated 2 of the apartments in the quiet, families only, area to a large group of about 15 teenagers with a couple of adults who were presumably in charge of the group. The pool apparently closed at 7.30pm but at midnight and beyond our new neighbours were having a pool party. In fairness after that first night they were pretty well behaved, but still a third consecutive night with little sleep was beginning to grate. The next day a group of French 20 something lads moved into another of the apartments. This was beginning to get silly. Half the apartments in the quiet, families only, area were now occupied by groups that weren't families and thus far some of them had been far from quiet. The French lads turned out to be very well behaved, quiet at night and respectful of their neighbours. Which was fortunate. With what came later, in the apartments next to them, I actually felt quite sorry for them. The next two nights passed without incident. At last we thought the quiet stay we were promised by the apartment managers, despite the families only area being a myth. So it was more than a little surprising when the next day two apartments, including the one directly beneath ours, were occupied by a hen party of 9 Spansih girls and 1 boy. An odd combination for a hen party but maybe they do things differently in Spain. So somebody at Maribel Apartments had thought I know what would be a good idea, let's give 2 apartments in the quiet families only area to a Spanish hen party. By this time 2 of the apartments in the families only area were occupied by families with the rest occupied by groups of largely young people who were very clearly not families. Night came and we went to bed with some trepidation. Sure enough around midnight the hen party pool party was in full swing, shouting, screaming, music blasting. Terrible music at that. Hang on though, the complex rules state that the pool closes at 7.30pm and there should no noise from guests after 9.00pm. Apparently not on both counts. The racket continues for a couple of hours before the noise dies down. At last some sleep I thought. Until 3.45am when the pool party starts up again. The following morning there were empty condom packets at the pool side which explains why there was a boy with large group of girls in the hen party. The hen party had evidently brought their own escort. The noise and the idiocy of putting non-family groups in the quiet families only area, particularly the hen party, was raised with management. They offered to move us again to another quiet area, but their credibility in being able to deliver a quiet area had been detroyed by the moronic allocation of apartments in their quiet families only area. We chose to put an end to the ordeal and leave the Maribel Apartments and move elsewhere. I have no objection to young people enjoying themselves but it is more than obvious that those intent on a partying into the night and early morning holiday should be allocated together and away from those that are seeking a more quiet and tranquil holiday. Apparently this is not obvious to the management of the Maribel Apartments. My Magaluf and Benidorm days are long behind me. I've visited Menorca many times. I like that it is a quiet island with quiet resorts for quiet holidays. Just why a quiet resort like Cala Blanca is a magnet for the party set in early May is beyond me. Maybe it's just that the Maribel Apartments has a reputation amongst the party set as a complex that is very happy to take the money and allow rowdy, noisy behavious late at night and into the early hours of the morning. Maribel Apartments is the noisiest place I have ever stayed. Would I stay at the Maribel Apartments again? Absolutely not. Never in a million years. It is an extremely noisy complex with management that seems to be too stupid, disinterested and complacent to care. Would I recommend Maribel Apartments to others? If you love a noisy holiday with a racket late at night and into the early hours of the morning, or your deaf, then yes the Maribel Apartments is probably for you. If you value peace, tranquility and being able to sleep at night avoid the Marivel Apartments at all costs.
