The location is superb, really central and just one minute from the beach. Ariadna met us with the keys and showed us the apartment. The apartment is fairly new. Remember to request parking when you book, as the parking was full when we arrived. However we were able to access the parking from the second day of our 1 week stay.

To be improved

We found that the apartment was too small for 5 people (2 adults and 3 kids). There are enough beds, however the living area (kitchenette/living room) is very small, so we could not really be in the living area together. The kitchen is not well appointed - for example - no tea towels, only one very small chopping board, no bowls for cereal or soup, no dishwasher or oven (a microwave with grill function). The apartment wasn't super clean, however given the type of holiday the apartment does get quite dirty during the stay - a vacuum cleaner would have been nice to keep it tidy during the stay.

“Modern, well-equipped place. Great location.”

The best

The flat was very clean. It's generally very modern and well-equipped. I believe the flat was recently renovated, so it feels very well-taken care of. Quick return of the deposit. I really enjoyed it and would stay here again, if I ever come back to Portbou (rather unlikely, though).

To be improved

The only thing that is not very modern are the windows and doors. They let some cold air and noise into the flat. I found the heaters a bit to regulate. Sometimes they were blasting out hot air when I put them on night mode, sometimes they were cold during the day when I needed them the most. Maybe some instructions here could help the guests. The floor is a bit cold, maybe some carpets would help in winter. I missed a kettle in the kitchen. During check-in, there was an issue with the machine that reads the passport, which made the process a bit too slow. Also, as usual, I find the extra dog fee a bit nonsensical , as I do not find that small dogs cause the place to be extra dirty. I have a hard time understanding the point of this fee. Some thoughts on the city itself: Not the flat's fault, but the city was a bit disappointing. Not much going in winter, despite the beach still being quite nice. Few options to eat out. Portbou is a pretty village, but not very welcoming out of the summer season, it seems. What a pity.
