We arrived in Benasque during a big power outage. We were unaware of this because we had been hiking in a national park and drove to Benasque directly after the walk. We were surprised to find all the shops and restaurants in Benasque were closed and wondered if we had missed a national holiday. When nobody answered the doorbell, we thought we might have been too early, but after a few minutes, the host approached us and explained that the whole of Spain, Portugal and part of France had suffered a power outage for a few hours. She led us to the apartment, which was very spacious, with a separate bedroom, a well-equipped kitchen including a washing machine and dishwasher. It was a shame we couldn't actually use these because of the power outage, but that's no fault of the host, of course. All in, a highly recommended accommodation.

To be improved

We used this as a stop on our way from Vall de Boi to Torla. While Benasque is a delightful town, it did take us a bit off the route and resulted in some backtracking the next day. Other locations, like Ainsa, might have been better options in hindsight. I would therefore especially recommend staying in Benasque if you have planned more activities in the direct surroundings. Having said this, this is no fault of the accommodation itself.
