Host extremely helpful. Provided/offered us and other residents with a meal on arrival. Helped with arranging transport to Bilbao including giving us a barik card for e metro. The apartment is part of an old farm house I’m guessing. Amazing views and peaceful. 30-40 mins to Bilbao airport and Bilbao, and 10 mins to coast. Lots of space outside for families. Loved it.

It is pretty obvious this property is in the mountains so not for a feint hearted driver.

As soon as i booked the host messaged me a lovely welcome message, then as soon as I arrived I was met with a friendly smile, i was shown to my room, the host then said they would make me something to eat and was brought fresh tuna from the sea down below the mountain along with fresh bread. They then organised a taxi in to bilbao for me without a fuss, I could not recommend this place enough

Once there, beautiful mountain views. Studio very clean, (apart from the bird's nest in rafters!). Studio interior is precisely as shown on the internet. Pretty. Traditional. It is very dark. Likely to keep it cool as no air con; lights have to be on continuously. Nice gardens, seating and play areas for children. Cooking facilities perfectly acceptable; could be better given that facilities such as supermarkets, etc. are down the bottom of a mountain! No nipping to the shops in this one! This property is 'Marmite'. Some will love it. Others not as much. I did not. Quiet, apart from dogs barking which can go on all night.

Description of 'mountain view' was accurate. BUT it did not make clear that it is virtually at the top of the mountain round winding roads. etc; or describe the distance to the nearest facilities such as supermarkets etc in practical terms. Not easy driving; nervous drivers do not apply! Upon arriving, and realising the full implications of the location, I tried to cancel (asked for refund) and met hostility. In fact, was told by the male proprietor (husband), at 6.00pm, that the only person who could make that decision was his wife; who would be home at 10.00pm, as she was working in the local town. I, therefore, requested a one night stay until resolved and was declined. After unsuccessfully attempting to resolve this with booking.com (the male proprietor simply refused to answer the phone call by Booking.com, as I knew he would), and sitting in my car for an hour in very hot sun, I decided I would have no option but to stay. The (husband), thus, showed me into the studio and rapidly left. I was given no information about anything. So, that evening I had nothing to eat; nor drink, as I don't drink the local tap water. Driving the unlit, and unfamiliar, mountain road in the dark filled me with dread so I avoided going out in the evenings throughout my stay. The lady proprietor was, generally, only available around work commitments and via text messages, which she did respond to when available. The television broke down and the male proprietor's standard response was that his wife was in charge and the only person who could resolve it when her work shifts ended. It did get replaced but I found this level of customer service lacking. And not what I am accustomed to. I did not know whether his belligerence was because he had disliked my complaints but I suspect this is how the hostel functions generally.
