“Not nearly as good as it looks”

The apartment is modern, clean, and quiet, with a great walkable location close to lots of restaurants, shops, bars, and historical sites. We appreciated having a washing machine, a standing fan, an electric kettle, a strong shower, and a modern elevator.

During our 5-night stay, the wifi worked for only a few hours here and there. We reported the problem Friday night when we arrived but were told that office hours are until 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, unless there’s an emergency. We wrote again about the lack of wifi during the weekend and on Monday morning and never got a reply. As a result, we couldn't do much of the work we were hoping to do while there. For days before we arrived, the management company pressed us repeatedly to fill out the online check-in form and enter a credit card number for the 300 euro deposit. It felt a little like a scam, especially since none of the other apartments we’ve rented through Booking.com in Galicia and Asturias in the past two months have required that. Besides the broken wifi, the apartment was disappointing in other ways. Although there was a coffee maker and a tea kettle, there were no coffee or tea cups (only water and wine glasses). We had to buy paper cups at the supermarket to have tea. The bed was badly made, with the bottom sheet just draped over the frame rather than tucked in, so it slid around as soon as you got into bed. The windows in our studio (3E) faced the airwell between apartment buildings, so you couldn’t see the street or the sky. And for the size of the space, the price seemed high: It cost 5 euros more than the 2-bedroom apartment we rented the previous week on Calle Rio San Pedro in Oviedo. The apartment was also missing some basics that other apartments provide, such as sugar, salt, pepper, and paper towels or napkins. They also only provided enough detergent tablets to do one load of laundry and one load of dishes in the dishwasher. Maybe if they provide whole bottles people steal them?

Wonderful managers /(Sheila and Maria), excellent client service, ready to help, very professional. The studio is brand new, everything works. Super shower, clearn linen, full kitchen. Well located, CALM! Very secure.

To be improved

My stay was too short. I'd definitely try to book the same facility next time I visit Oviedo.
