“The apartment was excellent. Fresh and clean. Excellent location close to beach. We visited in quiet season so parked a few meters away. Would totally recommend. Even in quiet time there were several restaurants open. · Cons: Nothing.”

“Cons: 1. Absolutely no any parking in 500 m range, you must fight for parking lot and waste your time 2. First floor and windows directed to the street, so you can not open at night for fresh and cold air, no conditioning 3. Cooking stove does not work properly 4. If you stay more than 1 night, you need to buy toilet paper, trash plastics by your self 5. Bad quality beds and matrasses 6. Very poor internet, sometimes they just turn off it at all”

5 minutes from a very popular surfing beach (there was a 4 km traffic jam to this beach on Saturday morning). Optimal for young surfers or a family with two small kids (not us). WiFi working well. Cheap parking on the beach overnight (could have helped if the hosts would tell us this). The nearby town is very nice,

To be improved

Too small, 25 square meters, 4 bunk beds. Overpriced for such small space (high season near to a popular beach). No sea-view. The main issue was being on the 1st floor, no air-conditioner and thus you need to keep the only window wide open at night (no airflow, hard to ventilate). On Saturday night there was a very noisy fiesta till 1:00 am. Be careful with the toilet door, if left locked can be a problem to open from outside. Window shades are old and might need repair (they get stuck).

“Generally good except the beds.”

The best

San Vicente de la Barquera is on our route, it is peaceful and by the beach and it is a beautiful place. The apartment was neat and generally all was pretty new.

To be improved

The appartement is a bit dark. We found the beds quite uncomfortable, so we did not sleep well and when we took the bed sheets off in the morning the mattresses looked unusually dirty, what left us with un unpleasant feeling.
