“Really disappointed”

The equipment of the unit is old and obsolete. The quality of beds are bad (hard). We get two different units and we got sewer smell in bathrooms. Only the reception speak another language than Spanish. Nobody in restaurants or bar are speaking any other language than Spanish. We are speaking more than four différents language and it was impossible to communicate or order without google translate. This is not acceptable in a 4 stars Hotel. The food was good but the personnel was not kind or even professional. The price for breakfast if you have no half board is for 2 adults and two children EUR 58.- I have a lot of complaint to make but if you read this, you surely understand that we had a really bad experience with this Hotel

The best

Swimming pools. Events, hairdresser was great. Beds were ok. Shower was excellent.

To be improved

General lack of info, specially about parking. Wifi didn't work, kitchen items limited. Room cleaning not included. AC in the upper level was dirty and not powerful. Beaches are better in Peñíscola downtown. Buffet was super expensive, not worth it. TV remote not Working well and it was not battery.

“Enjoyable stay”

The best

Nice apartments in a great location close to the beach. Air con both upstairs and downstairs in the apartment. Bar prices were very reasonable although service was slow. Bus stop outside the hotel for Benicarlo -Peniscola. Reception staff were friendly, both on arrival and departure.

To be improved

Beds felt a bit uncomfortable, very firm mattresses. Cleanliness varied, housekeeping staff in every day but mostly made beds and changed the towels. The floor was quite dirty. No kettle in the kitchen.

“These apartments should have not been renting out for vacation stay until the construction was complete. Unsafe grounds”

The best

Arrived were told that there was minor construction. Walk onto grounds and not minor but major construction with open holes ,construction material everywhere , in even unsafe walking grounds. Nothing was open and our room smelt like an old attic. Very unhappy. The ZT hotel however listened to my concerns and moved us over to the hotel grounds but then we were charged for things we did not do such as buffet. We did do the buffet one night and the food was gross and made us all sick the Italian restaurant on grounds was horrible.

The best

Very nice appartements, comfortable and quite big. We were lucky and got provided with a coffee machine and a dish washer. Beds were not very comfortable but ok. Enough power outlets. They clean your rooms everyday. Great sea view, lots of pools, very clean, the beach is located in front of the Plaza, great activities for the kids.

To be improved

They had shows scheduled every night and although our daughter (8 years old) quite enjoyed some of them, they went on for too long - most of them ended at midnight and were quite loud. So, if you wish to go to sleep before midnight, it‘s almost impossible without Ohropax stuffed in your ears. You get a card to pass the door to the beach, but sometimes, when we came back, it suddenly did not work and the door refused to open. You also have to reserve sunbeds online. That was too much hassle for us, so we decided to buy an umbrella and a big beach towel at the supermarket next to the Plaza. We had breakfast included and the whole process was quite cumbersome, unfortunately. You have to choose between short time slots which - for our taste - were either too early (8:30 - 9:00) or too late (10:30-11:00). Although it still was ok to come around 10:00, you often had to wait in line. The staff at the breakfast room was quite hectic and not particulary friendly. The choice was ok, but there were no bowls for yoghurt (we used a glass), no small cups for marmalade, honey or nutella, there was almost no variation from day to day. Also, we missed a proper selection of different fruits. All in all it wasn‘t a relaxing or friendly experience. For the price, we expected a little more. The entertainers at the ressort were nice, friendly and did a great job - especially with the kids. We come from Austria and as noone spoke german or english, our daughter couldn‘t participate in some of the fun activites. Some other staff members from the reception were not very comitted and didn‘t even ask us if we enjoyed our stay at the end. Also, the beautiful oldtown with the castle on top is quite far away. We had to walk over an hour to get there. You will find a doto train going around but we never catched it on time and they did not operate after midnight.
