“Great autumn experience!”

The best

The host was great, helped us plan the route and trips for all 3 days, she new all the area very well and we have followed all her guidelines :) Rooms are warm and comfortable. It was very clean.

To be improved

It is far away from any shops or restaurants, so it would be great to have at least coffee or tea in the apartment.

“Lovely relaxing stay, great access to routes and lovely host.”

We loved everything about this stay and especially the lovely host who gave us some great recommendations on routes. The location was also amazing and very peaceful. We'd definitely return! Very clean apartment.

“An pleasant stay in spite of not the most comfy twin beds. A surprising amount of prescriptive rules”

The best

Super Clean appartment in Quiet, Peaceful location at the shaded end of the Valley, close to the National Park entrance for easy access to hikes / sightseeing along the Valley. Restful natural surroundings. Shops, restaurants etc. are a short drive away. A comfortable Living room / Dining room with pleasant decor. The Kitchen has an excellent fridge-freezer and a washing machine + drying rack & iron for guests use. We appreciated a kettle (HERVIDOR) being made available at our request for boiling hot water and making cups of tea. Plenty of cleaning products and equipment for "keeping the flat as tidy as you found it". Isabel runs a very tight ship - understandably as this is her family home and cleaning standards are impeccable. The Welcome Book consists of a no-nonsense pricelist detailing every item in the flat and rather a long list of RULES + the costprice for failing to meet the owner's exact standards. Conscientious guests might feel slightly overwhelmed by the ubiquitous rules and possibly irresponsible guests won't bother to read them all: e.g. take your own garbage out daily to the large municipal bins by the roadside (a walk down the steep access drive), strip your own beds prior to departure and leave all bedding etc in one place, only use your allocated numbered parking space,...

To be improved

- As we specifically wanted a TWIN bedroom, we ended up having to book a Duplex TWO-Bedroom appartment (one double & one twin bedroom). The appartment was on the Third floor - No Lift - with the Twin room under the eves at the top of an internal spiral staircase (= in effect the 4th floor/attick space): not ideal with plenty of luggage. - I cannot comment on the comfort of the double bed as this one was not used but the twin beds were disappointingly uncomfortable. Budget coil springs matrasses: difficult to find a sleeping position where one did not feel each one of those springs. We woke up aching rather than rested. These beds really are only suitable for children. Below our expectation for the price paid. - Specifically allocated Numbered Parking spaces (Your Number is texted to you prior to arrival) might be a good idea in peak season but early in low season? Only 3 appartments were occupied at the time of our stay but 3 cars had to line up side by side, in slightly narrow spaces making opening car doors for (un)loading luggage quite challenging - whilst twice as many other spaces were available. Why not free choice parking in low season? Surely most guests would park in a sensible position to suit the circumstances. - the LATE afternoon check-in and EARLY morning check-out does not seem entirely to the visitor's advantage.
