“Perfect for Relaxation, Not a Party destination, Car needed for touring.”

The best

The location was perfect. Downstairs there was a bakery and launderette. 2 minute walk to Spar, 3 minutes to shops and 5 minutes to the beach. L'Estartit is a small quiet town, no mad night life or anything, just lots of restaurants and ice cream parlours and tourist shops. It was so easy to just walk out of the apartment and stroll to the beach or the shops or the restaurants every day. The area felt safe too. The complex was very secure and there is a beautiful promenade which is busy enough to feel safe but not too busy. The beach is beautiful with sun loungers to rent and beach bars along with toilet facilities. The town was exceptionally clean and tidy too and the restaurant staff were very friendly. The choice of restaurants and food on offer was great too and catered for all palates.

To be improved

The swimming pool does not have sun loungers, umbrellas or a pool bar, that is the only down side about the complex, the apartment itself is lovely. The lack of public transport was a bit of an issue., we didn't rent a car thinking we would go up and down the coast in the local bus but the service was non existent from one coastal village to another. You had to get a bus towards Girona and then find another one or two to get anywhere so that wasn't easy. Also online we thought we had found a place that would do a day trip to Aqua Brava Water Park but it turns out they don't do that anymore despite still advertising the service and again no public bus to it. If we had a car it would have been more accessible but then the car was not needed around the town itself so it would have been a waste of money to hire a car for two weeks only to use it a few days and we could not find anywhere local to hire a car for a few days. Also the view of the harbour was lovely but the immediate view from our apartment is a large derelict site with over grown trees which block the sea view. Not the fault of the apartment owner of course but it's pity that it is there.
