“Great stop over.”
The best

Friendly staff although English is not their second language. Thank God for tech. Translating on the Android made everything simpler and caused amusement all round. Underground secure parking. Dog friendly although not in the restaurant. Restaurant provided limited but well cooked food with wine for a reasonable cost. Had a great time here and saw the citadel and the old town square. Architecture is something else in the town. All good. Couldn't fault the hotel at all.

“Not Aparthotel.. just a bedroom with fridge and microwave.”
The best

We have used aparthotels on many occasions but this room had so few utensils that it was little more than a normal bedroom. Even if you bought a microwave meal there wwas not enough cutlery to eat it with. But it was clean and spacious.. and the hotel bar/cafe was a very friendly place with good food and staff.

“Excellent apartment, non-existant breakfast!”
The best

This is a modern hotel some way out from the centre, but we were only overnighting on our way to Portugal, so were not too worried about where it was - should have tried for somewhere more central. The apartment bedroom was excellent and comfortable and everything worked. Had we been more central, we would probably have looked for restaurants to choose from, but apart from our hotel where we were staying, there was nothing else. So the hotel's restaurant was more a working man's café/restaurant with full of people who were obviously not guests and the place certainly didn't radiate "ambiance". We ended up with chicken and chips which was pretty unappetising. Breakfast next morning consisted of one piece of toast and one cup of coffee. Where was the "continental breakfasts" that most hotels include in the price? The room cost us 62.66 Euros including breakfast and underground car park and reckons it is worth 3 stars. I reckon it merits none. The next night we stayed in a luxurious 4-star hotel in the Algarve for 66 Euros - what a difference.

“Quite good”
The best

The apartments are huge, with a kitchen, living area and master bedroom. The breakfast was typucally Spanish, a little bit too small for me. Just a piece of toast with jam and butter. But on the whole it's good value for money.

“A come-as-you-are kind of place.”
The best

This was my second visit to Badajoz. Again, I needed a hotel near the main hospital (ie: across the river from downtown) but for a longer stay than the previous time, so I chose this hotel in lieu of the slightly lower price than the hotel where I stayed the previous time (see my review here on Tripadvisor), the option to book a room with a kitchen (to save money on eating out), and also on the back of a recommendation from my brother, who had stayed here recently. All in all, a perfectly adequate, casual -if a bit dated- hotel. The staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. The room was big, clean and quiet, although the bed was hard as a plank and I had to ask for extra pillows... Free WiFi everywhere in the hotel was a huge plus, though there were some connexion problems. The hotel has an ample bar/diner in the ground floor, with quite a local feel but with a very relaxed, casual atmosphere and friendly staff. There is also private parking, as an extra.
