Apartment Laura, Romantic stay, Free WiFi

At arrival the surface around the pool patio was chipped and dusty like on a construction site. Walking barefoot was impossible. Then the refurbishment started... woken up every morning by two impact drills. The noise lasted all day long, accompanied by builders dust that the wind carried into the pool and onto the balcony and inside the appartment, so that the window had to be closed during the heat of the day. It was unbearably hot (and still noisy). The owner of the appartment said that the refurbishment will take about half a year. Once the builders went home for the night: the next door hotel started loud party music every night, until late night. On the weekend the loud music came from the nearby shopping centre, which continued until the morning.

The communal grounds felt slightly outdated and could do with some upgrading. There were construction works going on in the swimming pool area so this was empty and not available. We were offered to use the swimming pool of another development a few minutes walk away on the same road. The location is on top of the hill and there are no public transport options available to go down to Puerto Rico or Amadores. It is a very steep hill, about 25 minutes walk down the hill with steps but going up the hill can be challenging. Taxis are easy to flag from the town. Parking nearby is possible but depending on the time of the day you may need to park a few minutes away from the property. Puerto Rico feels slightly too touristic and does not have much charm. It is good for sun, beach, restaurants and bars but nothing historical or cultural around.

No pool for the full stay. It was being renovated but was not given the option to change accommodation. Not very clean upon our arrival. Had to clean the bathroom and shower upon our arrival. No toilet paper for bin bags upon our arrival. Had to buy our own. Owner very rude Was supposed to pick us up from the airport but never arrived. Very unprofessional.
