Appartement El Balcon ( cortijo La Cubertilla)

Lovely property close to village.

Comfortable very clean and well loved

Super quiet, relaxing location w/beautiful views

We discovered William & Ron’s charming farm stay wh searching for refuge post-U.S. election. La Cubertilla includes a cluster of buildings: a large house (which includes pool access) and two apartments: “Patio” and “Balcony”. We stayed in the peaceful and relaxing “Patio” apt, comfortable for 2 adults w/a queen bed, en-suite bathroom, and a cozy sitting room, adjacent to a small round dining table. You rcve bkfast items that you cook yourself selected from a daily menu. It was too cold to completely enjoy the outdoor inner courtyard patio but we welcomed the portable propane heater in the sitting room used during a few chilly November nights. If you love nature, you will enjoy taking walks while soaking up views of the olive groves that extend as far as the eye can see. The sunset were spectacular. The nearby town of Fuente-Tójar, about 5 miles away, has 2 local food stores but don’t expect them to be open mid-day, which is customary when you’re out in the country. It was a wonderful stay and we hope to return at some point to rent the big house w/a group of friends.

The apartment is cosy and has it own entrance. It has everything you will need for a comfort stay. You can walk from the cortijo direct into the olive fields, its a quite area and no barking dogs att night. The hosts are very friendly and provided a nice breakfast. In the previous reviews was written that the showers were not working well, but that problem i solved now ;-) We would stay here again.

This trip was more about the dark skies for my husband to use his telescope and that was 20/10. There is no light pollution and he was overjoyed to see the Milky Way. For me the apartment was quaint and comfortable, and the owners welcoming and friendly. We didn’t take breakfast as we took our own but the choice looked good. I don’t know if it’s an age thing but I find the need to take my own pillows and glad that I did. I also took my own condiments and toiletries and that was needed.Overall a very good experience for both my husband and I. Thanks Ron and William.
