The room was very large, and free bottles of water a nice touch. On site parking underground - but it is a shared carpark with the hospital and open to the public... and see below - area didn't feel the safest.

To be improved

Our room had, what appeared to be mould or something near the aircon vent which was a bit off putting. Also the pillows were rather uncomfortable. The biggest issue - it is so far away from the city centre - like deceptively so. Also the area around is a little run down so didn't feel super safe leaving our car.

Did not have breakfast after seeing level of cleanliness night before in cafeteria. Bed was comfortable.

To be improved

Male receptionist unhelpful when I requested room nearer to the lift, we are aged 84 and 72 and had difficulty walking such a long distance to room 330. He said hotel was fully booked. An obvious lie as very few guests seen. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. Parking was a performance. Why no longer term parking for guests outside the front of hotel? Restaurant was closed so very limited options offered at the scruffy bar, even more so with my coeliac disease. Does not warrant 4 star rating. Photos falsely represent the perceived level of luxury, when in fact it is poorly staffed and low grade. Very disappointed. Wish I had allowed previous bad reviews to influence my decision to stay here when I should have booked elsewhere.

No option for breakfast given. To be ordered at the cafeteria. Understaffed therefore no table service.

To be improved

Having more staff for starters. Asked for extra pillows n had to wait for 2 hours. Nevertheless had to print a word document which the receptionist did print for me. So much appreciated!
