A Disgusting and Unacceptable Experience — Do Not Stay Here The apartment is well located, with easy access to the city. That is the only positive aspect I can mention. Beyond that, I felt like the real residents of this place were not us, but a thriving colony of cockroaches — each one the size of a grown man’s thumb. I will attach photos of the dead ones I had to kill, day after day. In a four-day stay, I had to kill at least two large cockroaches every single day. This would be unacceptable in any rental, but it’s absolutely horrifying in a property listed on Booking.com — and even more so in one that is supposedly “child friendly.” I have two small kids, and I felt deeply unsafe and disgusted throughout the entire stay. Worse still, multiple dead cockroaches were found daily in the building’s lobby as well, which clearly shows this is not an isolated issue but a chronic infestation that the property is well aware of. And yet nothing is done. I genuinely cannot understand how a situation this revolting could develop in such a central area of Madrid, especially considering the price of the accommodation. It's beyond comprehension. Despite the host's apparent willingness to help, nothing improved. The cleaning staff ignored the specific areas I flagged with photographic evidence, leaving cockroach droppings untouched. The maintenance team allegedly intervened, but if they did, it was completely ineffective — because on the very morning of checkout, I found and killed two more cockroaches strolling freely across the apartment. This is not a minor complaint. This is a full-blown hygienic disaster and a disgrace to anyone claiming to provide hospitality. I will file a formal complaint with Booking.com and sincerely hope that a health inspection is triggered as a result. This place should not be listed. It should not be available to families. It should not even be open.
