“A spacious apartment, right in the heart of Jerez”
The apartment is wonderfully located in the historical centre of Jerez, just 25m from Plaza del Arenal (where, by the way, the local Tourist Office is - well worth popping in as they have LOTS of info about where to go to see Flamenco, the horse shows, good sights, and recommended Sherry Botegas). It’s more spacious than the photos suggest, delightfully light, and well equipped. The two doubles are doubles, not kings, but are fairly comfy. The decor is nice and modern, and with a dishwasher, washing machine, oven, fast WiFi, TV, coffee machine, super comfy L-shaped sofa, and decent showers, you’ll not want for much. The industrial strength air-con was amazing, keeping the place lovely and cool. The vents didn’t appear to be working in one of the two first floor bedrooms (the one behind the exotic wallpapered wall), and a fan had been provided, but because everywhere else was so cool, it kind of seeped in and wasn’t a problem. The upstairs bedroom has its own independent unit. If it’s not clear from the description, there are 2 double rooms on the first floor, along with the main open-plan living / dining / kitchen space and a bathroom. Upstairs is another bedroom with a double sofa-bed and another bathroom. It’s from this upstairs room that you access the large roof terrace, which has the outside seating area, another dining table and chairs, and the hot tub. The parking space was a godsend as we’d driven down from Seville, and it’s super close to the apartment, just a short walk away and accessible by steps/lift from each corner of the Plaza del Arenal. The spots are quite tight, but during our stay at least, the fourth floor down (where the reserved spot is located) was not at all busy, so we had no one next to us. It’s no more than a 5-10 minute walk to the Cathedral, Alcázar, or pretty much any of the main sights of Jerez, so super convenient to take in all the culture.
Being so central to Jerez comes at a price, and we found the noise of cars and bikes rattling down the cobbled streets immediately next to the apartment quite disturbing, especially early in the morning. This was most noticeable in the main bedroom downstairs, next to the bathroom. If you’re an early riser, this shouldn’t be a problem, but for those who might want to sleep in until 9am or later, it may prove a challenge for some. We were also drawn to booking this particular apartment because of the lovely roof terrace, shaded area, and seats shown in the photos. Unfortunately, we couldn’t take full advantage of this space during the day because whilst pads and cushions for the seats were provided, nothing else, and most notably in the 37 degrees heat, the roof/shade/covering, was not (see photo). We were told when I enquired that it had, apparently, been ‘removed due to damage from the wind’. It was a shame the photos in the description didn’t match what was provided to us. The other annoyance from our point of view was the kitchen cabinet doors. They look great in the photos - all sleek and handle-less - but several of the ‘push to open’ mechanisms no longer work. We took turns at ‘cabinet whispering’ to try and get them all closed at the same time (otherwise several of them larger lower cabinets stick out by 2-3 inches), with mixed results. If you’ve limited mobility, or fear you won’t be able to comfortably carry your cases up 4 flights of stairs, be mindful that like other reviewers have mentioned, the lift doesn’t work and we were told it was ‘just for decoration’.
“Perfect apartment for amazing few days in Jerez with friends”
The flat was exactly as per the description. Air conditioning was superb in the heatwave. Beds super comfortable. Great location - one of our favourite meals was just downstairs! And having parking included was perfect.
We had some issues with the parking access, apartment keys & locks, but we managed to resolve quite quickly.
“With some small repairs I would give this a 9. We needed the third bedroom for our group so we were glad to have that.”
Size, comfort, cleanliness, excellent AC , good location
Building main door only opened halfway No light in entry foyer Elevator did not work Lights on stairs difficult to figure out Bathroom door requires two hands to close Shower control very difficult to turn My navigation app took us to the building but there was no number, only two hands with ten fingers. No obvious place to stop vehicle for unloading We had to park in the garage, unload and walk around to find the bldg Parking card wouldn’t let us out the first time so we had to pay We re-entered with the card but it wouldn’t open the gate for departure. We called the attendant and they raised the gate
“Lovely weekend, ideal location, very comfortable”
Location
Can be a bit noisy, close to Plaza Arenal and bars
“Superb”
We spent a few days in Jerez to visit friends. The location was fantastic for enjoying the old city center and all it has to offer. The parking space was extremely convenient, especially when it was raining. Our stay there made us miss Spain and want to go back again and again. Thank you!
“Perfect Stay in Jerez”
Location, spacious, bright, comfortable, the rooftop space, quiet at night even though it is in a busy location. Loved it all!
