“Life in the Attic”

The best

Pepe the owner was brilliant - he definitely gets 10 out of 10. He couldn't have been more accommodating - even agreeing to meet us early when he realised we'd be hanging around after our early flight. He was also very considerate with little things (eg bottles of water, sun tan lotion etc) he'd provided. The flat itself was very well maintained and is only a five minute walk to the beach. I can't over emphasise how brilliant the top floor terrace is. It is so spacious and we spent a lot of time up there - although we didn't use them there is also a fridge, sink and first class barbecue there as well (as well as a proper kitchen in the flat) - it was SO much better than an ordinary balcony. IF we ever revisit the area we'd be happy to stay there again for the terrace alone.

To be improved

There's no real secret as to the big disadvantage which is the railway line which runs immediately behind the flat and is pretty busy for 20 hours a day. You sort of get used to it (and it's handy for getting in to Barcelona) but you'd rather it wasn't there. Although there are plenty of ceiling fans which are pretty effective there is only one actual air conditioning unit which is a bit disappointing - I think if it had been really hot when we'd been there (it was high 20s) we might have struggled.

the apartment is clean, comfortable, located near the sea, there is a supermarket nearby. Barcelona is 50 minutes away, you can get there by train. Our family vacation was a success
