“Great location”
I highly recommend staying at the Aurea if visitingToledo. Lovely property and you couldn't ask for a better location.
“Best hotel in Toledo”
Modern, luxurious, elegant and very comfortable hotel right next to cathedral in the heart of Toledo old town. Everything is walking distance. Old heritage building renovated inside to 5 star hotel. Enjoyed our stay very much. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Bed was very comfortable. Toilet was impressive, clean and modern. Room was lovely. Rooms were exactly as in the photos. Will love to visit again.
“Toledo Hotel- Nice Hotel But Impossible to Drive to the Hotel Upon Arrival”
We stayed at the Aurea Hotel in Toledo for one night. The hotel is rated 4 stars. Prior to arrival, the hotel informed us that they did not have on-site parking and suggested three nearby public lots. What they failed to mention was that the entrance to the hotel is located on a very narrow cobblestone street—only about 7–8 feet wide in some areas—and is completely inaccessible by car. This was not made clear in their communication, and it caused considerable difficulty upon arrival. For that reason, I would not recommend this hotel, especially for anyone with mobility issues. Toledo’s old town is very hilly, and navigating it by car is quite challenging. My advice to anyone staying in Toledo is to park your car in a public lot and either walk or take a taxi to your hotel. The hotel itself was fine. It was clean, and check-in was smooth, although the staff member at reception was not particularly empathetic given that we had arrived in the rain after hauling luggage up and down cobblestone streets. Our room was a good size with a comfortable king bed and a well-equipped bathroom. The only downside was that the walls were thin, so hallway noise could be heard at night. Breakfast was included in our room rate and offered a nice buffet selection. The hotel’s location is excellent—just a short walk to the main cathedral, the Jewish Quarter, and many restaurants.
“Overpowering hotel scent negated the many positives of the hotel”
There are so many great things about this hotel but one overwhelming negative outweighs all the positives. The hotel’s signature scent is so powerful and pervasive , on purpose second morning as we walked towards the hotel, one could smell it 50 feet from the entrance on the street. I tried to hold my breath from our room to the exit but though embarrassed, resorted to covering my nose. All my clothes now carry it’s scent. On the positive, it is perfectly located. The staff were lovely, professional, and extremely helpful. The room was well appointed and the linens were exceptional. The bed was extremely comfortable. So if you are immune to powerful scents, you will enjoy yourselves. Reserve a spor well ahead for dinner at Taberna Boltero and Skala for lunch. We also enjoyed a great meal at Marrakech
“Excellent all round”
This is a really nice boutique hotel. Perfectly situated beside the cathedral. Check in was very easy and my room was extremely comfortable. I really appreciated the full length bath. Breakfast was a very good buffet with lots of Spanish produce, plus a selection to order. I had the avocado on toast. Excellent
“Elegant, Comfortable, and Unbeatable Location”
Áurea Toledo exceeded all expectations. The room was elegant, quiet, and perfectly comfortable after a day exploring the city. Breakfast each morning was generous and beautifully presented, and the staff were kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The hotel’s location made it easy to walk to every major site in Toledo, yet it felt tucked away and peaceful. After staying in Granada, Áurea Hotels quickly became a favorite—I’ll absolutely return to this one. A wonderful blend of charm, quality, and convenience. We loved Toledo, we were there 12 years ago and always wanted to return.
